Animal Cruelty Must Be Stopped!!!!
Man charged after kitten beaten to death Last Updated: Monday, August 6, 2007 | 10:14 AM AT CBC News Halifax police arrested four people and charged at least one of them after a five-month-old kitten was beaten to death with a golf club over the weekend. Several people, including a group of children, witnessed the incident on Sunday in the Spryfield area of Halifax on Cobalt Walk, media reports said. Police questioned a man and three teenage boys. Two of the young people were released, but charges are pending against one of the teens, police said. Police said they picked up an adult and charged him with offences not directly related to the death of the cat. The man was taken into custody, but they've released no other details. The kitten named Pearl was in the front yard of its home when it was beaten. The cat's owner, an 11-year-old girl, and her two 12-year-old cousins were sitting nearby and said they witnessed the attack. Two weeks ago, another cat was found hanging by its neck in a Cole Harbour backyard.

OH MY GOD, some people are monsters, I swear. Lock them up in jail and throw away the effin' key, I'd say. Or perhaps they deserve a beat down with a golf club
If I saw anyone doing that, I'd have to kick their ass, I swear. That poor little baby

Just hope and pray this miserable toxic pile of inhuman waste doesn't come within 500 miles near me.
My fingers crave retribution.

I just read this story about a Pit Bull who was murdered. This made me cry and soo angry!
By JACQUE ESTES Staff Writer PALM COAST -- Clutching a black dog collar with paw prints on the clasp, Harley Hoover and his fiancee, Holly Bryan, left the Flagler Humane Society without their beloved pit bull, Yayo. They hadn't gone to the shelter to bring Yayo home, they had gone to identify the dog's body. Someone threw Yayo's body out of a pickup July 28 at Ulaturn Trail and Seminole Woods Parkway, several witnesses said. Hoover identified the dog from a photo taken by animal control. Hoover's face was taut as he looked at the picture of the 2-year-old red-nose pit bull he had raised since it was a few weeks old. The grisly photo showed the dog with its leg cut down to the bone and its chest sliced open. Tire tracks could be seen on the dog in the photo, but animal control said it was unlikely it died from being run over. "When we see a dog that has been hit by a car they are more mangled, " said animal control officer Eva Boivin, who was on duty when Hoover came in to get the dog's collar. "These were clean cuts." It's not known why someone would kill the pit bull, a controversial breed that has been in the news recently. Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick's career is in limbo as he faces federal charges accusing him of being part of a pit-bull-fighting ring that executed poor fighters. And in Deltona in June, a pit bull named Tazz attacked and killed a 63-year-old woman visiting her sister. Hoover described his 100-pound pit bull as a friendly animal who got along with other dogs and people. "It just makes me so mad, " he said of the dog's killing. Hoover discovered that Yayo and Daisy, a Labrador, were missing when he returned home the night of July 27 after visiting Bryan, who was recovering in a local hospital after surgery. Yayo had been left inside a crate in the house. "The dog was in the crate, but he knows how to get out of the crate and open the back door, " Hoover said. "He was playing with the neighbor's dog and then he took off, and that was the last anyone saw him." Yayo ran off with Daisy. The dogs had escaped once before and Hoover, 23, had found them on Utica Path so he headed in that direction. Hoover did find Daisy in the area, but Yayo was nowhere to be found. After a day at work and visiting Bryan, 22, in the hospital, Hoover said he kept himself going with four power drinks and he continued to look for Yayo throughout the night. Exhausted, he decided to get some sleep the next morning. The 911 calls started coming into the Flagler County Sheriff's Office dispatch about 11 a.m., each saying they had seen a dog being thrown out of the back of a brown pickup. Animal control officer Michelle Adorante photographed Yayo, picked up the dog and took it to the shelter. Meanwhile, Hoover had been posting fliers in the neighborhood hoping that someone had seen his dog. He got a response, but it wasn't the one he was hoping for. "I got two calls from people who said they had seen a dog that matched the description, on the side of the road, " Hoover said. Donna Howard, animal control director, said abuse cases involving pit bulls have happened before. "Late last year, we had dead pits in the canal, " Howard said, noting many look at the animals as "disposable." Volusia County animal control officer Becky Wilson said she had not seen anything this severe. "I have been doing this for over 30 years, and, from what I saw when I first started in Palm Beach County, it has gotten better, " Wilson said. Howard said pet owners should know where their animals are at all times. "This dog unfortunately is a poster dog for keeping your animal confined, on a leash and microchipped." No official investigation will be conducted unless someone comes forward with information. "Due to funding and the condition of the dog there is really nothing we can do from this point, " Howard said, adding that her office should be notified rather than a citizen taking the matter into their own hands. "If somebody would do this to a dog, it is probably someone you don't want to approach on your own, " she said. Anyone with information should call animal control (386) 445-1188. "If they have seen anything, heard anything or know anything please come forward, " Howard said. |

This morning as my husband and I were going into our breakfast hangout a little orange kitten was on the sidewalk and was meowing and followed us in to the restaurant. Well, someone took it back outside and as we were leaving there it was looking through the door window just meowing away! Aw.................. it looked like it was lost. We could not take it home as my husband is very allergic to cats so we informed the waitresses about it and I certainly hope that somebody there took care of it. I am not a cat lover but it looked and sounded so forlorn and if I could have I would have taken it home with me. It was just a baby!
