So I am sitting here watching Season 8...& to my dismay...the end of Episode 1 is missing the "Patty Duke Show" homage!! I am upset!

Guess they couldn't get the music rights to use it!!?? BOO!!

I'm not a roseanne fan but i know how frustrating not to have missing Tag scenes on a DVD. i went through that with Three's Company. Paying money for incomplete seasons is not cool

I am glad that I taped that ep when it aired on ABC back in95'. I still cannot get over the fact that Anchor Bay used Becky #2 instead of #1. I have a big problem with that. I know that Sarah is known for her role on "Scrubs" but Lecy does have squatting rights. I have a major issue with that.

That is a terrible comparison. The Three's Company episode that was missing a tag is not even confirmed if it even had a tag originally. There is no proof yet. And that is just one episode out of 172. For Roseanne, there is actual proof. There are way more DVD sets out there that are way worse...see Roseanne S1, Cosby Show S1, A Different World S1, all of ALF's seasons, etc. How about edits on every episode for those.

I made a new post last night on the Three's Company Board about a season 7 ep on DD also not having a tag. 1 out of 24 just like on the season 4 DVD

Plus, the Patty Duke scene was on the best tag scenes in Roseanne history! It's horrible that we won't even be able to own it on DVD!

In my opinion, the Three's Company sets were some of the best ever. It really is a bad comparison against Roseanne.

If an episode doesn't have a tag it doesn't mean it was cut out. It might have not had one originally. For example on 8 Simple Rules, I noticed 3-4 episodes didn't have a tag in season one when it originally aired and of course those don't have tags on the DVD.

That Season 7 episode of Three's Company that doesn't have a tag still runs well over 25 minutes. Get some proof before you say stuff. I have that episode from original airing and there is no tag.

You having the ABC version of that episode is nough proof for me-lol Case closed on season 7

Despite 817 and 819 being shorter than 22 minutes they may just be complete after all. The season one episode "Mall Story" originally ran about 22:30, and is present in such length on the australian dvd. I compared this to the german dubbed ep and its identical.

I've noticed something strange: "Springtime for David" runs 21:33 normally but with video commentary it runs 22:06. Not sure about the differences. With commentary it's not like Roseanne and Michael comment before the episode starts or after it ends so the extra 33 seconds are not from the commentary itself. Maybe it's the disclaimer "This commentary does not reflect....." message before it starts but I don't think that was 30 seconds.

I also noticed the other 2 episodes with commentary run about 30 seconds shorter than the episodes by themselves.

I am also dissapointed that the "Identical Beckys" tag is cut out. That was one of my favorite tags from the entire series.

Why is it that none of the reviews of this show on DVD mention that montage being left off? In fact, of the three reviews I've read, all of them make mention of that montage, and do not mention it not appearing on the DVD. I picked up my copy, today, so, I'll have to check it out.
