It is interesting that such a big deal was made about Marcia getting braces. She got them on in one day (impossible, as Irene stated in another post), and they were gone by the next episode.

Jan, Bobby and Cindy got braces, wore them for many episodes, and no mention was ever made.

What I hated abt this episode is that the first time I seen it, I assumed you could get braces in one day. Also, Marcia made it seem like it was the worst thing in the world to happen to a teen. My God, when I got my braces, sure my teeth and gums were sore, but it wasn't this horrendous thing where everything tasted like metal. I was able to eat. I was so excited to get my braces because I knew it was no big deal and many kids had them. Some of my classmates were "envious" of them. I knew my smile would be great after I wore them and for that, I was anxious to get them on as soon as possilbe. And as for boyfriends, they didn't have an issue with me wearing them. Marcia assumed her boyfriend wouldn't like her anymore. Why???? Does she think he is that shallow? Marcia and the writers made this an awful episode for anyone who thinks life is over if you get braces.

No kidding. Greg and Peter were the only kids not to have them.

They probably felt that one episode about braces was enough.

It could be argued that Cindy didn't have braces, Susan Olsen did. Jan didn't have braces, Eve Plumb did. And Bobby didn't have braces, Mike Lookinlad did!
