Default The 1990 opening credits with the cast dancing to hip hop. I just found out

from watching a NBC episode from 1990 that Denise and Martin is in the Hip hop opening Credits too. N@N for some reason cut their dance sequence of out the opening credits. I'm only used to seeing Denise and Martin in the Opening Credits with the Apollo Theather

THe hip-hop opening credits were for 1992-1992. 1990 still used the Apollo credits. Are you watching the original episode from season 8, or is it a rerun somewhere? And, why would Denise/Martin appear in the eighth season opening credits while they weren't seen at all? Were they credited?

The episode I received was from 10/4/90 which is season 6 so whatever the opening credits are for season 6 I never saw Denise and Martin in the opening credits until 2 days ago.

It's actually season 7, but that doesn't matter, cause it's the same opening. Anyway, are you saying you never saw Denise and Martin in the season 6/7 opening, or the seeason 8 opening?

So season 8 credits. You saw Denise/Martin in the opening credits for season 8? They weren't even in the season at all.

My mistake, I meant to say season 7-lol The 1990-91season is season. So the season 7 credits with the Mural is my first time seeing Martin and Denise

But the mural was for the season 8 credits, not season 7.

I'm completely confused. The episode you watched - you said you were surprised to see Denise and Martin in the credits, and the episode was from 1990, which was season 7. Denise and Martin were still inthe show in season 7, so the credits you saw were correct.

Now, you said something about the opening credits with the mural in the background. Those credits are from season 8, and Denise and Martin were not in season 8. So, if that's what you saw, then you should have been surprised.

The season 7 opening credits were changed after a few broadcasts of the 1990-1991 season. I forget why but they went back to the season before's credits and just added Pam's name in. The following season they used the one that they were going to use for season 7 but Denise and Martin were edited out since they had left the show.

I get it now, and I learned something I never knew before. You're watching the original NBC version for the episode, which aire 10/4/1990, which was the seventh season. In the shows original run, it used different opening credits for the seventh season than seen in syndication. In syndication season 7 has the same credits as season 6, but originally, the seventh season used the same credits as season 8, but for some reason, it was changed for syndication. So, of course, in the seventh season, Martin and Denise were still inthe series, so were in the opening credits. For the eighth season, since they were removed from the cast, the credits were changed to have them removed, and that's what we see on NAN for the eighth season.

So, what your watching is the seventh season episode, with the original opening credits, with Martin and Denise, which I have never seen before. I hope I helped after all that confusion!

Thanks Sonny now everything makes sense. I just read that the Mural Credits only ran in certain cities and only for 4 airings and I guess I never saw Denise and Martin because they left the show by season 8. By the way Pam doesn't really dance in the version shown in october of 1990, bill cosby just brings her introduces her and that's it

are you sure it wasn't just changed for syndication?

EDIT: Never mind. I read at TV.com what happened. I wondered how they got the rights to use it in the eighth season.

Solomon, is there any way possibly you could post the opening sequence for the episoe you saw? Now I'm dying to see it. I hope FirstLook supplies on the seventh season DVD.
