Default Steve Urkel Huxtable?

None of the Huxtable kids look anything like Cliff. Maybe a better casting choice would have been Jaleel White (Urkel) as his son. Check out Bill Cosby on the DVD cover of season 4 above!

I actually think Theo, Vanessa and Rudy look like they could he Cliff's and Claire's children. However, Sondra and Denise look less like them. (Their fair skin doesn't help either.) But if they would have had another Huxtable son, why not Jaleel White?

Nice observation, but wouldn`t Jaleel White have been about 8 when the show began? LOL. They really could`ve passed for father and son though.

I actually think Sondra and Denise look like Claire. And Claire`s skin wasn't that dark, so it isn't hard to believe the older girls as her daughters.

But when the show started, Rudy was only five years old, and the youngest child was supposed to be a boy until they went with Keshia Knight Pulliam instead when no suitable boy auditioned.

Oh wow! I never knew the youngest child was orignally supposed to be a boy. If that was the case, than Jaleel should have auditioned, and gotten the part. He really could have passed for one of the Bill Cosby`s kids.....

....Though that would have meant he wouldn't have played Steve Urkel, and that character just wouldn't have been the same without Jaleel in the role.

Anyway, thanks for the little trivia bit about Keisha....One character I always wondered about was Sondra. In the Pilot episode (and several episodes after that), I think it`s said that Cliff and Claire only have 4 children. Why was the Sondra character suddenly added to the show?

Sondra was added because they felt they wanted Cliff and Claire to have a daughter, who they had already successfully raised into adulthood or something stupid like that. Well, I think Sondra was a good addition anyway, so I'm not complaining.

There's also the thing, that Bill Cosby in real life had four daughters and one son. So they wanted to copy that into the show.
