Default Moments Where a Character Did Something That Was "Out of Character"

The first one that comes to mind is in "Janet Wigs Out" when Janet starts wearing a blonde wig and her whole personality changes. There's no way Janet would have ever done something like that and the way she treated Cindy in that episode was awful which is why this episode is one of my least favorites.

Jack asking Cindy to marry him in "And Baby Makes Four". Not only that but Cindy says yes.

Janet's character in "Janet Wigs Out" was definitely the most out of character moment of Three's Company.

I just thought of another moment. In the episode "Good Old Reliable Janet" when Janet and Mrs. Roper go to the nude beach and they take off their clothes. Well, I could see Mrs. Roper doing something like that but not Janet.

I agree that "Janet Wigs Out" is a moment when Janet acts out of character just because she puts a wig on. I don't even watch that episode when it's on TV Land. Another one is "Jack the Ripper" when Jack acts bossy to try to be more agressive towards people. But I like "Jack the Ripper" better than I do "Janet Wigs out."

I don't believe Larry would be cruel enough to put real ink in a fake camera to ruin someone's dress.

Still, right after, Jack says "Larry, you said you were gonna use water" and people still blame Jack for doing this when he just said that it's Larry's fault.

How about the episode where Jack wears a fake mustache, and Terri begins to fall for Jack with his mustache on. Terri would never do a thing like that!

I think she may be reminded of that old boyfriend by looking at Jack with the moustache, but I agree with you that she would never behave the way she did. Too over the top. Not something I could see Teri doing.

Janet behaving so differently just because of a wig was too much to handle.

Also, I think Janet goofed when she asked Teri to move in WITHOUT talking to Jack abt it. I mean, this is a potential new roommate, not something you do without asking your other roommate abt. I felt like that was not something Janet would do.

Janet getting crazy over her car. I may be in the minority here, but I always felt like her reacting that way abt her car was too much. Ok, Jack did it, he is ultimately responsible. She put fear in Jack that he had to fake amnesia over it. It's not like Jack wouldn't give Janet money to fix the car. They were too close to have that be an issue. It made Janet look materialistic.

Chrissy yelling at her muscular date Elmo when he came down to fight Furley (Ralph's Rival). I think that was the only time she was forceful and taken seriously during the "dumb Chrissy" episodes.

When Roper wanted to watch the dirty movie that Jack and Larry had (Home Movies). That part always struck me as strange..

In "The Fast", they made it seem like Chrissy is always eating junk food and snacks which was kind of random, she's almost never seen eating at the apartment unless its breakfast. That whole episode was a little out of character for her, IMO.

Larry actually planning to get married in "Larry's Bride", considering he seems totally against the idea of marriage during the rest of the series.

Larry was so nervous when he went on a date with Terri in "Lies My Roommate Told Me". He was never like that when he went out with other girls.

Yeah, she was so different from how she started out. Remember when she dated that married man? She was not so dumb during that time. She also let that guy have it by telling him what she would do with that umbrella. That is something I couldn't see the later "dumb Chrissy" doing.

True, but he really liked Terri so he wanted to make a good impression
on her, and so he got tongue-tied and trys to hard to impress her. I think
inside Larry is a nice person but he has to act macho to impress girls.

Yeah, but he wasn't like that when he was in love with Janet and also when he fell in love with that girl he was going to marry so it was strange to see Larry acting that way around Terri.

I guess they wanted to show us that Elmo was even more dumbthan Chrissy. LOL

Anyway, when Mrs. Roper met Cindy in episode "Night Of the Ropers" when the Ropers came to visit. I expected Mrs. Roper to greet Chrissy's cousin with open arms, instead she looked at her like she was really dumb like Chrissy and when the Ropers were around, Mrs. Roper never treated Chrissy with any disrespect. So I think that was rude for Mrs. Roper to give Cindy the cold introduction.

But he wasn't really in love with Janet. I think in that episode, he was afraid
of being alone all of his life and he thought he wanted someone as sweet as
Janet so he won't be alone. As for that one girl he was going to marry in
the second season, I think you are right on that one because he was in love
with her.

In season 4, Chrissy says that she is the best secretary at the company if you don't count or do shorthand but in season 3 she tells the president of the company that she can type 90 words a minute. Poor girl got so stupid she can't even type anymore!!!
