Default Things we could have done without...

Having Albert be the one responsible for the fire at the blind school.

Carrie's dream.

Laura's dream abt the indians.

The episodes that bring on Cassandra and James.

Any episode after the Ingalls' leave Walnut Grove.

Bringing in Nancy.

The episode abt Laura's goat.

That cruel schoolteach who disliked Laura. Why he couldn't stand her out of all the students isn't made clear. He took an instant dislike to her for no reason. I could see if it was someone like Nellie or Willie.

The two-part episode abt Laura running away after her little brother dies. Ok, make the episode, but a two-parter? Too much for me.

Having Doc Baker fall for Mrs. Olsen's niece. It was nice to see him fall in love, and it bothered me to see them never get together and marry.

Aw, I kinda liked that one. Yeah, it was pretty silly and pointless, but it was a Halloween episode, and I tend to like Halloween episodes. Don't ask me why.
It's not as good as the headless Harriet one, of course. The only other Halloween episode, I believe.

I kind of liked that one too. Especially when Pa came in and gave him the what-fors, and then took the guys stick and broke it.

I think Richard Basehart's portrayal of a teacher with (severe)control issues was very well done, as well as disturbing.
I remember watching him on the Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea series.

Other than to give Carrie an episode of her own.

Yeah, I know what you mean abt Carrie. Poor thing, they never gave her much airtime or speaking scenes/parts. It was like they said, "Ok, here is a whole episode devoted to you. Never say we didn't give you speaking parts."

If more than one person responds to the thread, "we" is perfectly acceptable...no one is "speaking for you"

Had it said "Things we could ALL have done without".....THEN, you might have a case!

That's what makes you so damn smart. I'd rather communicate with a smart man.

Besides it says "assume" above...you and I know Mikado what it means if you assume something...

Wasn't it Albert who had the dream? He was reading about the Indians while in bed, waiting to go to Nellie's Halloween party while dressed as an Indian chief. Unless you mean another episode?

You know, you may be correct. I detest that episode so much, I avoid it at all costs, so it has been a while since I have seen that episode. It's been a very long time, so I have forgotten who actually dreamed abt the indians. But I trust you are correct.

Well, I had seen the episode about 4 days ago on my Season 6 DVD, so I know it's correct if that's the episode you were referring to. I just didn't know if there was yet another ep where Laura could've dreamed about Indians herself, so I wanted to be sure.

I could've done without the episodes Sylvia, Halloween Dream and May We Make Them Proud - easily my least favorite episodes of the show. All focused on Albert - no offense to Matthew Laborteaux, but I never cared for Albert and think the show would've done fine without that character. OK, I'm waiting for you all to throw tomatoes at me! *ducking*

I think as the actresses got older, they probably were not that great actresses. Maybe that was the reason. James and Cassandra got the spotlight over the girls that played Carrie. I though that was messed up.

I could have done without "May we make them proud as well". Burning a baby and a cast member was too much for me. I spoke with Hersha Parady (Alice Garvey) and she said that it was really cool to be a part of (LHOTP and the fire episode).
