Default price is right season 36 news volume 2

Hello all, info is pouring in fast & furious regarding the upcoming season of the price is right:

Here is the latest info that I have direct from my friend in Hollywood.

Sid vinnedge (of fremantle media) has been named the executive producer of the show. Price is right fans may remember him from the premiere of season 32 when he came out after the opening and payed tribute to Bob saying Bob could run for president & win!! I was hoping beyond hope that Roger Dobkowitz would get that position which would virtually guarrantee that the showwould not change all that much. Sid also played a role in that ridiculous set change that happened in season 32 with the hollywood mural on the turntables.

That brings me to my next bit of news. I am being told now that as we speak the set is going thru " a complete overhaul". I am being assured that the set will maintain its classic or retro look but the set is in fact being redesigned. Apparently this was decided when Sid came aboard. So expect a new look to the set when the show kicks off in september (doors, turntables, lighting etc)

Also something that I was told that I find very hard to believe but since it came from my friend I believe & trust his information. The main theme music that we all know & love is being as he put it " modernized & put into stereo ". He said it will be the same theme but will just be in stereo rather than its current state in mono.

Drew Carey had his first meeting with the price staff yesterday & over the next 7-10 days he will be learning between 5-10 games a day. They really are intent on getting the production underway the week of August 13th. In fact he told me the tenative date to tapethe 1st showof season 36 is August 15th. That is tenative & depends on how quick Drew picks up on the rules of the new games. He did very well in day 1 learning games such as plinko, dice game, punch a bunch & also range game.

Thats the latest info I have, now that syd vinnedge is the EP expect the unexpected & although the set will still look retro, it will apparently look vastly different.

As I get more I will post it.

Another update: I can now confirm the first " taping " for season 36 will indeed be on Aug 15th, however my friend in hollywood tells me that will not be the " season Premiere" Apparently the shows will not air in the order they are taped. It is the plan at this point to tape 2 shows a day every other tues wed & thurs. During the weeks that price is not taping Drew will be taping the power of 10. It is still not known when the " premiere episode " will tape or air. Syd Vinnedge the new executive producer seems to have the were going off on time come hell or high water attitude. If that holds true than it will air on september 17th, but the numbers just don't add up. They are taping only 6 shows every other week. At this taping pace they would only have 18 shows (3 & a half weeks worth) in the can by the time the 17th of september of rolls around. They have to be very careful here because it is not like they have a ton of shows to repeat in case they need to catch up in taping. Once the Barker shows stop airing, & they start with the new shows they can't suddenly go back to airing barker shows. It is the opinion of my friend that what will ultimately end up happening is the new shows will begin airing in october depspite what is being said now. THat is his opinion (as well as mine) & there is nothing official to back that up yet.

Their appearances might have had to be postponed, due to the ongoing news coverage of the Interstate 35 West bridge collapse, between St. Paul and Minneapolis. I don't think they were on as scheduled, last night, because of that. If their appearances are rescheduled, if that was the case, keep us posted.

Yes because of the tragedy in Minneapolis Bob & Drews appearance with Larry king was postponed. I have not been given any concrete info on when it will be rescheduled. I am hearing whispers it may be aug 14th, the night before Drew tapes his first show, but that is anything but confirmed. I will let you all know or if anyone finds out, let us all know!!!
