Default Kate Beckinsale Reveals that she has been offered Catwoman for Third Bat Man Movie

During an interview, Kate Beckinsale says preliminary casting for third untitled Batman movie is underway and says she was offered the role of the seductive Cat Woman. She was was asked why would she take the role...

“Because I have a thing for black latex,” joked Beckinsale. “I think Michelle Pfeiffer was such an awesome Catwoman. I would be intimidated but I don’t know if my husband would talk to me if I turned it down. I’d have to give it some serious consideration.”

I kind of find it hard to believe they're already thinking about the third Batman movie while they're still filming the second one, but I guess Kate wouldn't lie about this.

Never was a big Kate Beckinsdale fan. I'm sure they'll have someone else in mind when they get to shooting Batman 3.

Who knows, maybe they're interested in filming them back to back.

well whatever happens, we just hope that this catwoman ranks alongside the one played by michelle phieffer in batman returns, as opposed to the one by halle berry

actually, an asian catwoman wouldn't be that bad, considering we've already had a black actress and white actress playing that part. though of course race is irrelevant and unimportant. what IS important however is that whoever plays that character plays it as well as michelle phieffer, because she was very good in batman returns. michelle phieffer is going to turn 50 next year, but judging by the photos in the hairspray poster and in the film itself, she still looks in great shape

As you said, race isnt the point, I just think Lucy Liu has the cat-like looks and hot sensuality to be Catwoman, not to mention she looks great in black leather!

Although, I do have to admit that I find Asian women the most attractive.

I agree. Finish one movie before you start another!

What disappoints me is that they're redoing previous villains. When Batman Begins came out, I thought it was cool they were doing a reboot, yet featuring two villains who'd never been given a cinematic rendering, R'as Al Ghul and Scarecrow.

When I heard they were redoing the Joker for the next movie with Heath Ledger (huh?), I felt a twinge of disappointment. I'm sure it will be a good movie, but why not explore some of Batman's rogues gallery that have yet gone untapped??

On the other hand, I wouldn't mind seeing Two Face redone, as he was pretty much a buffoon in Batman Forever. Do him as the fascinating psychological character study that writers such as Denny O' Neil have in the past.

And Frank Gorshin is still the definitive Riddler, campy TV show or not. Why bother having Tommy Lee Jones as a co-villain when Jim Carrey just chews the scenery, doing his usual shtick?? They could have saved a few million dollars that way.

And I don't agree on doubling up on villains. Too many characters and subplots when the filmmakers go that route.

They should stop trying to redo previously used villains and seek out new ones. I liked the fact that Batman Begins had Ra's Al Ghul, something I always wanted to happen, but never thought it would.
