Default Season 6 was kind of like Sanford and Son, AWFUL ep Ideas

The Two Parter With Larry

Florida stuck in an abandon House

Florida the Physical

Penny Gets Sick

Cousin RayDog

LOL-LOL

Crappy a$$ episodes. Season 6 of Good times reminded me of a car going down a road in full steam and all of a sudden rode over a nail and that was the end.

Why don't you specifically say why those episodes sucked?

The abandoned house was BORING. I hate seeing sassy kids.

The only thing abt bringing Cousin Raymond around (what was with the name Ray that the writers like? Willona's ex was also Ray...) was that we got to see the family in a nice restaurant, somewhere other than the apartment.

Penny sick is tooooo much Penny for me. No doctor makes housecalls. What was up with these writers? Not even in the 70's did they make housecalls. Good Times kept referencing the Waltons, now here in this episode they were pretending to be the Waltons by wanting a doctor to go to their apartment.

Two part episode about a character we never saw before

Episode revolving around a relative we never saw before

Episode about a character being sick who didn't live in the Evans household

The Ep-"The Physical"-just dry and michael kissing a guy killed it for me

The ep where they were the abondon house was just made Florida out to be-"SUPER BUS DRIVER"

LOL

Sitcoms can be annoying if we never see characters other than the stars, I mean people do interact with the outside world. Look at Gilligan's Island, 7 people on an island...yet, they managed to bring in outsiders once in a while or else it would have been BORING.

I got sick of the Evans being in their apartment. Venture outdoors. Like when Willona and Flo went to the club to party. What a nice change of pace.

Also, you can say abt characters we never seen before for the FBI episode when we saw Cleatus and the two FBI guys. We never seen Cleatus before but it made for a damn good episode.

Every time Thelma had a boyfriend (Keith being the exception) that was a one time thing too. We got to know Larry but they got rid of him. We saw Ibe. We never saw him before although he went to Thelma's school. Also, her friend in that same episode, we never saw her before, yet there she was in the Evans' apartment and at the school protesting.

How would they have stories / storylines if they don't bring in another character or two?

I did like The Physical episode because of the plant itself. When Flo gave the plant to the officer who was allergic, that's probably the meanest thing she'd ever done!!

I could not stand the way that officer pretended to sneeze. It was more of a hollar than a sneeze.

That role was played by Charles Hallahan, who went on to play another officer - Hunter & McCall's superior on Hunter. Ironically, the show starred John Amos in the first few episodes!!

I used to watch Hunter and I recognized him on Good Times as the head cop on Hunter, but I didn't know John Amos played on Hunter.

He was only in a couple of episodes, and he played a character named Captain Dolan.

I liked the stories on season six. This season seemed a bit lighter too me. BTW, you forgot to add that he was a foreman. LOL(James)

I liked Season 6 too. To me, it was way better than Season 5. I agree, the season did have a bit of a lighter tone to it, and there were occasional appearances by my two favorite recurring characters, Lenaaay and Balderman Davis.
