How about this for a topic? What if Green Acres was made today; in the 21st Century?
Now how about this: if Green Acres was made today: 1. Oliver and Lisa would have a phone, with an answering machine or a voice mail, inside their house, instead of climbing up to the top of their telephone pole every time their phone rang. 2. Oliver could have checked online for the latest information on farming, up-to-date farm equipment, and what crops to plant. If he ever needed to order anything, he could have gone online instead of driving into Mr. Drucker's store. He would have even got rid of that lousy tractor that Mr. Haney sold him and gotten a new one. 3. If Oliver ever needed to contact Mr. Kimball, Eb, or anybody he could have either sent him a fax or an e-mail, or even called him on his cellphone. Why be stuck out in the fields there with no other means of communication? 4. Lisa would have made those terrible-tasting hotcakes in a microwave instead of on that old grill. 5. She also could have done her shopping online too as well. She could have also gone on Oprah to talk about her love of shopping and how to make a farmhouse into a luxurious penthouse. 6. Mr. Drucker could have set up a Web site to post all of his merchandise online. 7. Everybody in Hooterville would have a cellphone, a TV with a DVD player, an answering machine, Internet access, HD tv, and so forth. 8. Arnold would have been watching either Brian Williams, Katie Couric, or Charles Gibson instead of Walter Cronkite. And instead of these Westerns, he could have watched these reality shows such as Survivor and Dancing with the Stars. 9. Since Darlene's father didn't like Eb, they could have duked it out on the Jerry Springer show. That's all I can think of right now. |

God, was it necessary to make a million threads of this same topic? Not to mention, you stated the same question three times in your post?

I would have liked to see Eb and Darlene's father duke it out on Jerry Springer.
