I wasn't even born when the show started, so I first saw it in syndicated reruns, along with many other shows that aired before my time.

Me too. I watched many sitcoms and dramas in syndication as a kid, and this was definitely one of those shows.

We started watching it when it first came on back in the early 70's. It was listed in the tv guide that we subscribed to, so thats how we knew about it.

I started watching it from the very first episode when it first aired, and I've been hooked ever since.

I'm not sure when the first time I watched. During the 1972 presidential election season my grade school held a mock election and I voted for Archie Bunker as a write-in candidate. Even then as an 11-year old kid, Archie made a strong impression on me.

Thank Heavens that AITF was on Saturday nights back then - it was the only night my brother and I had control of the TV. Nothing has compared to that CBS Saturday Night line-up since.

I may have watched AITF hundreds of times over these last 35 years but they still crack me up - sometimes to the point of laughing so hard it hurts.

Same here! My parents always had it on, so I used to watch it because of them (back in the early 90`s). I myself became an actual fan of the show in the late 90`s, when Nick @ Nite had the syndication rights to it.

I remember when the 20th Anniversary special was on CBS back in '91.
My sister was over with her kids and we all sat down and watched it.

My dad watched it back in the 70's when it was originally on. He told me one day back when I was in high school that I should watch it, and I did, and loved it.
