Default Vacation photos (and stories)

It's that time of year again, people going on trips of a lifetime, or just camping out in the backyard, got any interesting vacation photos from the past? Any cool places youve seen? any good stories? Please share!

This is the Big Apple Restaurant and theme park, in Colborne Ont they have a little zoo, some games and the best apple pies this side of heaven!
Whenever I go to the Kingston . or Ottawa areas, my first stop on the way up, and sometimes the way back is the Big Apple!

Very nice pic, Mikado!

I went to Las Vegas earlier this month, and I took some scenic and artsy pics. So far, I have only cleaned up the ones I took at the Paris hotel. Here are just a few to show off:

The pyramid of the sun in Teotihuacan, Mexico (July 2006). I climbed it, and it is very steep! Nice experience:

And now for a vacation story
I call it FISHING WITH A GIRL

To start off with, let me say, Ive never particularly liked fishing; I mainly did it to make my Grampa happy ( plus it meant I got a boat ride ). However, one of the last times I ever went fishing, it wasnt with Grampa in a boat, it was standing on some rock strewn island up in Northern Ontario, with My Dad, his best friend, and his teenage daughter, Jackie......and that's where the story begins:

First thing you might need to know is, Jackie was the girl I'd grown up with, we were 4 months apart and had lived as neighbours until her family left the neighbourhood when we were about 10......the Jackie i had known at THAT time was a rough little tomboy who was not only 10 times better at sports than I was, but who could easily have beaten me up, had she wanted to. ( I knew she was technically a "girl", but, she was "one of the guys", to me. ) Thus, I figured going fishing with her when she was 15 wouldnt be any big problem, however, sometime between her moving away 5 years previous, and then, she'd somehow become...............A REAL GIRL!!!! !!!
I knew this was going to be a problem the second she turned to me and asked me to bait the hook for her. ( Was this really the girl that i remembered covered in mud, eating dirt, so many years ago? ) Jackie used to collect worms and put them in a J-cup filled with mud after any rainstorm, now, here she was refusing to even touch her own worms! ( I was @_@ ) So, gallant boy that i was, i reluctantly put the worm on her hook, which immediately hooked itself into my thumb, of course. ( But, the worse was yet to come ) Now, the place we were, was litterally a little stone island , only accessible by boat, surrounded by deep water on all sides, and, these rocks tended to be rather slippery from the combination of splashing water and moss/seaweed that tended to cover said rocks.....which leads to why I never went fishing with a girl again. Once I had the hook out of my thumb ( Thx Dad ), Jackie cast in her line, as did I , and a few mins later, Jackie "caught bottom" and her line snagged.....of course, she handed the line to ME......( Can you guess what happened next? ) Right, I slipped on the rock while trying to pull her line free, and landed feet first into the deep cold water, plunging about 8 feet down, before swimming back up, panting for air, somehow, I managed to hold onto her fishing line ( I guess I had it in a "death grip" ). Dad and his buddy pulled me out , as the rocks were too steep and slippery to climb; I dont actually remember anything of the rest of the day, other than a pledge, never again to go fishing with a girl! ( True story!)

I went to New York last week.

The apartment from Friends

The Cosby house

And we saw two shows on Broadway.

Alan Alda saw Spring Awakening the same night we did. That was cool.
