Default False Information about Good Times that keeps being mentioned without a SOURCE

one was old and not mentioned much anymore about Bill Cosby not liking Good Times. No source was ever provided and I never believed because it just came out of no where.

Most recent is-"Esther Rolle not liking the Carl character" When the hell did she say this? What year? on what show? in what Magazine or book? Why do some people keeping posting this false information like it's a FACT?? And if i is a fact then can someone please let us know when it was said and stop posting stuff from JokeiPedia.com

I know I read only here on S.O. where posters mentioned the Bill Cosby rumor. But yeah, it would be nice to have sources for those sort of things.

Here's the link, hopefully it will help, to explain why Esther did not like the character of Carl. I believe it was not the actor but the character and his traits that Florida would not normally go for and it was too quick after James' passing to start a serious relationship.

Obviously, he didn't like the show. Bill was big during that era, and was one of few blacks back then were hot. If he liked the showed, I am sure he was have guest-starred on there.

Hi mstewart. Solomon won't accept info from Wikipedia. I don't rely on that source myself only because anyone can add/edit the information on that site. There has been too many instances of false information such as deaths of celebs, wrong articles, false articles, etc.

That is true Irene, but Solomon is not the the primary source on entertainment. Until he owns a source site, this will be the news. It is not what Solomon says, it is what wikipedia says.

I have found some stuff unreliable and reliable from that site. So reguardless of what Solomon says. It is still news.

I understand, I am just letting mstewart know what Solomon views as a source and what he doesn't. It doesn't matter to me what you or I find as a reliable source, I just didn't want mstewart to try showing him something he won't look at. It would be a waste. I have searched throughout the net for some other reliable sources but, I haven't yet come up with anything.

Solomon needs to realize he not the mainstream source. There are stuff others know that he never knew, so he needs to stop trying to intimidate other posters because he doesn't think they don't "know" as much as he does.

To me that makes perfect sense in that WE THE VIEWERS have posted on here how we don't like how they paired Florida so quickly after James' death and we didn't care for Carl's loudmouth ways, his being an atheist, etc. Those are NOT qualities that the character (Flo) would have wanted or appreciated in a husband. Florida had a deep faith in God and she wouldn't be with a man who didn't believe in God.

Remember how upset she was when Michael, for a while, stopped believing in God? It didn't matter to her what Carl thought or believed, because he was just Michael's boss at that point in the show.

The writers goofed up big time...AGAIN!!!!!!

Websites are not sources

Either Book, Magazine, or Newspaper.

Until the website backs up your theory lol

I highly doubt that Bill Cosby had any beef with GTs. He worked with Jimmie, John and Ja'net on his movies.

I never depend on websites to back up my argument, only newsapers/magazines or books like i did when arguing Good Times was not a spinoff

Solomon chill.

Books can be wrong too, there are errors in books and magazines all the time. They can misquote someone or pretend to quote someone. Especially if the person is dead, how can you prove whether that person actually said what is quoted?
