Hello everyone, this is my first post. My husband and I are both tremendous fans of Ozzie and Harriet, having grown up with the series. We also are Rick Nelson fans and have virtually all of his recordings. We were discussing the show the other night and debating Wally's funniest moment on the show. I think when he is typing and constantly ruins page one of the paper is hilarious. We are anxious to hear what other members think was Wally's funniest moment on the show. Thank You.

I always liked the episode where he had two girls for dinner. His ever faithful, Ginger, who was invited by Kris, her not knowing Wally was bringing a new girl. I don't think either of them ever knew they were both Wally's dinner date. Wally sure was sweating it though, he and Ginger had one of their fights and Ginger was trying to make it up to him by fixing dinner for him, not knowing he would bring a girl.

I think the funniest situation I ever saw Wally in was an epsiode called "Wally's Traffic Ticket" #426 '65-'66 season. He's steamed over a traffic ticket he thinks he got falsely--he tells Dave he ran a red light all right, but it was because it was blocked by a large ostrich. David reluctantly defends him and hijinks/many funny moments ensue.
I got this ep on a DVD set a few years ago from PLATINUM. And while the quality of this set was nothing spectacular, it was watchable. This ep was one of the funniest of the series (it was very Lucy-esque) and is a MUST SEE if you come across it. Keep threading & posting!!!! |

Wally also took all the good natured comments about his weight in stride.

Really need to rewatch the Traffic Ticket episode. Skip Young was a great performer. I thought it was unfair a TV reference book tagged Wally as "the nerdiest nerd ever to grace TV sitcoms".

I always liked his laugh. I know they were NOTHING alike, but I always think of him and Eddie Haskell at the same time.

Wally was OK. Necessary I suppose to play of Rick & Dave's niceness. But Ginger was the funny character for me. I love the way she always let Wally have it - and 99.9% of the time he deserved it!
To me, Wally & Eddie are both long-standing members of the Annoying Sidekicks Union LOL. But Wally had a nicer quality abt him - Eddie was smarter & lot more obnoxious. |

That's the connection between Wally and Eddie, annoying! I agree, Urkel was the nerd of all times. Ginger was a very likable character. She could let Wally have it, but she always came back to him. While David and Ricky had numerous girlfriends, it was always Wally and Ginger.

Ginger was quite sassy and the perfect foil for Wally.
