Eve meets Buffy

FYI - Eve Plumb appeared in a Season 3 episode of "Family Affair' entitled "Christmas Came a Little Early". The episode's original airdate was November 11, 1968

She plays a classmate of Jody and Buffy and, unfortunately, she is very sick..she can not attend class in person, but does so via an intercom system that was set up between her house and the classroom.

The character Plumb played in this episode was also named "Eve".

In this episode, the teacher asks Buffy to drop off a new book to "Eve" (because she lives just around the corner from Buffy). Since Eve had been attending class by intercom all year, Buffy is the first kid from class to actually meet her.

Eve is very sick, and basically has to stay in bed... when she does get around, she does so in a wheelchair.

Buffy is sure Uncle Bill can help to make her well. He helps her get seen by top specialists, but the prognosis is grim.

Eve makes good friends with Buffy and Jody, and the twins go over to her house to play board games with her.

The Davis family finds out that nothing can be done for Eve's illness, even by the best doctors..so they decide to have Christmas early, while Eve can still enjoy it... so they decorate a Christmas tree at Eve's house, and Mr. French shows up dressed as Santa Claus... he gives "Eve" a doll, which she loves.

Kym Karath (who played "Gretl" in the 1965 movie version of "The Sound of Music" also appeared in a "Family Affair" episode entitled "A Matter for Experts"...she's the one in the green dress in the middle of the "Ring Around the Rosie" group that Buffy joins.

Of course, Eve Plumb and Kym Karath teamed up on the Brady Bunch in "Cyrano de Brady" (Season 4), in which Kym played "Kerry Hathaway", the girl in whom Peter develops a major crush.
