Default Production Order or Broadcast Order

I've begun recording The Lucy Show from RTN to make my own DVDs until CBS decides to release season sets. From the information I've gathered it looks like RTN is airing the series in production order.

I know it's not a big deal, but if you were making these DVDs would you prefer to put them in production order or original broadcast order?

How do the copies airing on RTN look? and does the current Paramount logo follow the end credits? for that matter, are the original opening credits there?

Ethel Mae, you were never prettier!!! Thanks for your reply.

Jude86,

Quality on these RTN episodes are all over the place. Some look wonderful like they could have been remastered, while others have very soft focus, poor colors and even the audio on some episodes is muffled and drops out in places. I've only seen seasons 3, 4 and 5 so far. They all have the kaleidoscope opening, but during the opening credits after the initial theme, the season 3 Viv color episodes have the B&W video of Lucy and Viv sinking in the bunk bed. Seasons 4 and 5 opening credits have the stationary blue Lucy background. The strangest thing is in a few of the season 5 opening themes the announcer says "Costarring Vivian Vance". These episodes are noticably edited too. After the closing theme, there is a Desilu logo, sometimes with music and sometimes silent, and then a Paramount logo. I don't know if it's a current logo or not, but there has been no music that goes along with the Paramount logo so far.

I sure hope CBS releases an official set, because although these are better than nothing, they're a poor alternative.

Sounds to me that RTN is airing the same set of copies that Nick at Nite aired from 92-96, meaning the old CBS Daytime rerun editions. I've noticed someone on Youtube has put up fresh copies of the various openings and closings (with the current Paramount logo), meaning some station somewhere is airing fresh editions. I really want an official DVD release because my VHS copies are just ready to be trashed from years of play and the public domain DVDs are just so poor in quality.
