Default very latest Price is right news

Ok folks, here is the very latest info that I have direct from my friend @ cbs in Hollywood:

I was told that the production staff of the Price is right was told at the beginning of this week to be ready to return to work @ the end of this month. As of this moment it appears that they are very very close to finalizing the new host & have set a tenative date to tape the first show of season 36. I am being told that date is monday August 13th. What is reportedly going to happen is the new host will do 2 weeks of practice shows starting the last week of july to get ready for the premiere.

As far as who will be the host, it appears that Drew Carey is in fact back in the mix, The execs @ fremantle media really want him & are trying to make this happen. The CBS Folks aren't as convinced but are willing to talk. I am being told that Drew may being a studio audition today or tomorrow @ studio 33 (bob barker studio). THe Folks @ CBS really like Mark Steines from entertainment tonight. We shall see, thats the latest info I have, but I would expect a breaking news post from me very soon regarding the new host. My friend promised me 24 hrs notice before the announcement, & as soon as he tells me I can go with it I will :-)

Exerience does count, and although Drew Carey has game show hosting experience, namely Who's Line is it, Anyway?, I don't think he'll be right to host a show like The Price is Right. Mark Steines, unfortunately, doesn't have game show hosting experience(Sorry, people, experience counts more than looks). Mriggles, you know whom I definitely see taking the reigns of the show, so I don't need to mention his name and I don't care what the others say about him. Please continue to keep us posted.

Default It's looking like Drew Carey to me...

http://www.upi.com/NewsTrack/Entertainment/2007/07/20/carey_confirms_price_is_right_talks/6278/

Carey confirms 'Price is Right' talks

LOS ANGELES, July 20 (UPI) -- Actor-comedian Drew Carey confirmed he is in talks with CBS about his telling Los Angeles studio guests to "come on down" on "The Price is Right."

The comic and current host of CBS' quiz show "The Power of 10" emerged about a month ago as the front-runner to replace the venerable host Bob Barker, who retired as a game show host earlier this year, Variety reported Friday.

On Thursday, Carey said the talks have moved to the point of finalizing the details on a deal.

"It's going back and forth. We call them one day, and they call us the next day," Carey said. "I think it would be really fun to do. I wouldn't have gone into negotiations with them if I didn't think I would be good at it."

A representative from CBS declined to comment on Carey's remarks, Variety said. However, CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler has confirmed that conversations with Carey have taken place.

I do respect alot of dynomites reasons for wanting who he does for the show. Alot of good points were made & it does make sense. I know alot of you feel it has been overkill with his opinions, Its all good.

Were really close to the end of the search, in fact I can almost positvely say the search is over, but this has taken so many twists & turns I am not posting anything until I get the official word from My friend but lets just say If I bet my eagles season tickets on who the next host would be, I ampretty confident I would still be a season ticket holder at days end!!!

I promise as soon as I can talk about it openly & not with hidden messages I will

An article this morning in the paper said the exact same thing, and added in closing:But CBS should be forewarned:It said if Drew Carey DOES get the job,he's going to insist that the name be changed to "Magic Golden Wheel".That idea of a name change probably will NOT sit too well with CBS/Freemantle.But,who knows? How do the rest of you feel about the name change idea Drew Carey has?
