an ad that NICK AT NITE used to have for THE BOB NEWHART SHOW where they'd have a parody of the theme from THE BRADY BUNCH and a chorus of deep-voiced men would sing (while they'd be showing Bobs head in that familer B.B. "checkerboard" opening

HERE'S THE STORY
OF A MAN NAMED BOB
WHO WAS BUSY
WITH 3 BOBS OF HIS OWN
THEY WERE 4 BOBS
LIVING ALL TOGETHER
BUT THEY WERE ALL ALONE

HERE'S THE STORY
OF ANOTHER BOB
(I forget the rest of the lines)

then:
THEN THE ONE DAY
1 BOB MET THE OTHER
AND THEY RELIASED IT WAS (something)
THAT THESE BOBS MUST MERGE AND INCORPORATE
THAT'S THE WAY THEY BECAME THE BOB BUNCH!

THE BO-OB BUNCH!
THE BOB BUNCH!
THAT'S THE WAY THEY BECAME THE BOB BUNCH!

then Dick Martins head would appear in the center square, along with the words WITH DICK MARTIN AS ALICE

(for those old enough to remember "Rowan and Martins Laugh-In" and Rowan & Martin, you know who that is. For those who don't, he's a friend of Bobs and he directed some episodes of all his "THE BOB NEWHART SHOW", "NEWHART" , and "BOB")

I don't remember that commercial (sounds cute, though). But I *do* remember Rowan and Martin's Laugh In...you bet your sweet bippy I do!

Dick Martin directed the 1991 "19th anniversary" reunion of TBNS, as well as some of the episodes during its run 1972 to 1978.
