CBS will allow "Late Late Show" host Craig Ferguson to finish his nightly monologue in peace, after all.

Following The Post's story blasting the move, CBS has dropped its experiment in which Ferguson took an early break three minutes into his show.

The break sliced Ferguson's monologue in half, forcing him to finish it after a commercial break.

The move was an attempt by CBS to boost ratings during the commercials on Ferguson's show, which airs at 12:35 a.m.

Nielsen will begin measuring commercials for viewership this fall.

"All this week if you have been watching the show, we have been taking the early commercial break three minutes into the show. . . the results have come in. . . and apparently everybody hates the three-minute thing. . ." Ferguson said Thursday night during his monologue. "I am getting rid of the early commercial break. I will never do it again. It is over."

Ferguson said CBS was deluged by e-mails from angry viewers.

The final monologue break was scheduled for last night's show to honor a commitment CBS made to advertisers.

I'm glad they stopped those early commercials, it was really messing up the flow of the show. You could tell he didn't like it either.
