A poster on GT-SO said he realized Penny was being abused when she began telling wild stories. He implied that the Evans and Willona were slow(as in mentally slow) to realize she was being abused when they saw her back. He said that it shouldn't have taken them that long to realize that she was being abused. When did you first realize she was being abused?

Well, I think the Evans should have figured out that Penny was being abused when she said, 'Mama, I didn't tell them anything. I didn't say a word." I don't care who you are, those lines right there would be highly suspicious to anyone.

I realized it when we saw the first bruise/injury.

My eyesight was being abused by the addition of the character to begin with it-lol

I don't think that the poster knows what he's talking about, abuse then was still not as known as it is today. The Evans knew in time. I realized it when she made up stories as to what happened to her.
