Charecter actor Charles Lane passed away recently, he'd been type cast in the role of a grumpy man, boss, landlord, whatever the role called for, was he the man who played the older man Ed interviewed to work for him in the old is gold episode of CATM
where Chico said one of you is enough i couldn't take you in stereo? or something like that, isn't that Charles Lane? i liked him. |

Yes that was him. I remember him best as the other expecting father in the I Love Lucy episode where she gives birth to little Ricky. He already had 6 girls and wanted a boy but instead he got girl triplets.
102 years old God bless him. |

that was a great episode too. i read that Lucy really did give birth to Desi Jr the night that most popular episode aired.
even though he was always a bad, or cranky guy i loved watching him. another role he would have been good at would have been that old man named Ben in the andy Griffith show christmas episode, away in the manger the guy that tries to crash their christmas party by getting thrown in jail. lol |

Oh wow, I had no idea Charles Lane had passed on. I searched online & found this article on him:
http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?p...tot_g&refer=us Yep, he was on CATM. He was best known as Homer Bedloe on Petticoat Junction, a grumpy official from the railroad who was always trying to find some way to get rid of the Hooterville Cannonball train up in Hooterville. He also was on a Christmas episode of Bewitched playing a grumpy old man who Samantha tried to show the Christmas spirit to. I think he was also in an episode of the Beverly Hillbillies. Anyway he was on a number of old shows & tended to play a lot of grouchy type characters. So sorry to hear about him. He was 102. Rip...
