Default The Care Bears

Not to long ago, I was bored, I was on a video sharing website, and they had episodes of the Care Bears, I checked them out, and they were hillarous. Granted at times they can be preachy, but it brought back memories when I was a kid.

Most of us agree the 80's was a awsome time for cartoons, I was 4 or 5 years old, and Care Bears was one of the many cartoons I watched, and now I remember why, they had a nice message (though as I said prechy).

I remember stalling for time before my parents took me to school, so I could watch the Care Bears weekday morning on WWOR 9 in New York. I remember 8: 30 am My Little Pony (which I couldn't stand, I hated that show but I watch because we didn't have cable), 9 am The Care Bears.

Actully there are two versions of them.

The short lived Dic Care Bears (1985 - 86, syndication), which had only 22 15 minute episodes (11 half hour worth)

Followed by the better known Nelvana Care Bears (1986 - 88, ABC)

Both versions were rerun in syndication from 1987 - 90, as well as Disney Channel from the late 80's - 1997, and than on Toon Disney from 1998 - 2002. At some point during its run on Disney Channel / Toon Disney, they just ran the Nelvana version.

The Care Bears was a huge hit when I was a little one growing up way back in the 1980s. My grandmother even took me to A Care Bears Movie. Those were the days...

Professor Cold Heart he would have made an excellent Codename: Kids Next Door villain. He didn't want kids to have fun, just like most KND villains.
