RIP to my beloved cats I've had the pleasure of befriending throughout my life: Muffin, Denver, Kelly, Sushi, Festus, Patches, Miss Kitti, and many more...(can't recall ALL the names now). And my 2 pet ducks, Mork and Mindy, that I had when I was 13

My dog Coco passed away almost 2 years ago. She was a good dog. I had her for 11 years. I guess the biggest thing about her was she was always scared of different things even when I couldn't see anything. I often joked that maybe she was seeing ghosts. lol She was a very loyal dog and very kind. She used to lay right down by my feet while I had by latenight chats here on SO. I still miss her dearly.

To my other pets particularly Lady Bell and Dutchess ( two of the best dogs anyone can ever have), I still miss them after all these years and I always will.

I lost Foxy two years ago this November. He was almost 17. He was the perfect animal companion, very loving, sweet and playful. My husband and I were his world, and he adored us as we adored him. He slept on the back of my pillow and used my head as a chin rest, lol. I always knew it would be hard losing him, but never in my wildest dreams, did I expect it to hurt this much. I mourn him much the same as family members I've lost. I dream of him. I miss him every single day. I'm starting to wonder if I'll ever move on from this loss.

Here's his picture. He was a Persian. We used to send him out for clips. Otherwise, he'd look like a lion. His eyes were more emerald than they look here, and would turn brown a lot.

When I was a kid, I remember having Dexter, a dachshund, who just got old & had to be put to sleep. I was too young to really understand what that meant but I remember my mom was crying coming out of the vet.

Then we had 2 more dachshunds, Julius & Cleopatra. Cleo got hit by a car while we were on vacation. My cousin was pet sitting. I think Julius died of old age. I just remember that being one of the worst days because he died at home.

Then my mini-dachshund, Twinkie, died a few years ago at 16 1/2. I got her from the animal shelter when she was 8. Her name was already Twinkie. I wasn't crazy about her name at first, but I kept it. I figure why change something she already knows.

Then there was Phoebe, yet another dachshund, who died this past Oct. of cancer. She was only 8. I got her when she was 10 weeks old.

Duke the dog - We had him from 1989, he was a stray until his death two days after Christmas in 1992.

Batman the cat - We had him from 1995 until his death in February of 2000.

And of course Jerry the goldfish (I had two, Tom & Jerry) - He died on Christmas Eve years ago when I was probably six or seven. I remember I was watching "Christmas Eve on Sesame Street" when my sister told me that "Jerry's sick". But of course, he was already dead. Tom lived for another year or so.

and to my squeaker boy i don't think i ever got to say much about him either so here it goes! he was a gray and white cat and we first got him at the pound when he was just a little tiny baby! he wasn't even old enough to leave his mom! so we had to feed him baby milk for cats his age! he was so sweet and cute he cried all the time sometimes it was like having a human baby around or something! my other cat used to actally push him off of the bed cause i guess he drove her a little bit nuts! i still can't believe that hes gone i keep thinking that hes still with us but maybe he is i don't know but i would just love to be able to see him again even just for a moment and i know same goes for the rest of you we all miss our pets but always remeber if you believe hard enough and look hard enough you might see them sometime! @---'--- @----- rest in peace our little angel

so sorry for everybody's loss.
my story is of my and my cousins dog Cassie. we were starting on one of my cousins house. the first day we were working and she walked up. i went to pet her and she loved it. we had no idea who she belonged to. we left her outside. the next day, she was still there. since she grawled at every man that came close (except me) we thought maybe she was abused and kept her. just me and my cousin. later in life, she was attacked by a bigger dog and became pregnant. she died a few months after having her pups. she was vomiting blood. she was poisoned because she loved to run around the neighborhood and being poisoned is the only way i can think of to vomit blood, then pass on. at least she's in a better place and out of this cruel world. miss you, Cassie.

I would like to take this opportunity to dedicate this story by Paul C. Dahn
to all my dogs from years gone by (Smoochie, a Pekingese; Skippy, a Jack
Russell terrier mix; Speedy, a Chihuahua; Rusty, a German Shepherd-collie
mix; Pepper, a cocker spaniel-blue tick hound mix; Pedro, a Chihuahua; Prissy,
a Jack Russell terrier mix; Casey, a black Labrador; and Spot, a bull terrier mix) ....

The Rainbow Bridge

There is a bridge connecting heaven and Earth.

It is called the Rainbow Bridge because of its many colors. Just this side of
the Rainbow Bridge is a land of meadows, hills and valleys, all of it covered
with lush green grass.

When a beloved pet dies, the pet goes to this lovely land. There is always
food and water and warm spring weather. There, the old and frail animals
are young again. Those who are maimed are made whole once more. They
play all day with each other, content and comfortable.

There is only thing missing. They are not with the special person who loved
them on Earth. So each day they run and play until the day comes when one
suddenly stops playing and looks up! Then, the nose twitches! The ears are
up! The eyes are staring! You have been seen, and that one suddenly runs
from the group!

You take him or her in your arms and embrace. Your face is kissed again and
again and again, and you look once more into the eyes of your trusting pet.

Then, together, you cross the Rainbow Bridge, never again to be separated.

I lost my dog Roxy in January. It was totally her time though, she would pee and leak all over the place, she was miserable, her quality of life just plain sucked and kept suckin' until mom took her to be put down. The last thing my mom said to her was after mom realized she was nervous about going in she said "You're okay. It's okay. Bye, honey."

Even though we have new puppies, Mickey and Noah, Roxy is still aorund. We have 2 big pictures of her in sunglasses just chillin' and I'd like to think that's what she is doing in heaven. Peace out, Rox!!!
