Where do you think Sherman Hemsley would have fit on this show?

Sherman mentions in a 1975 TV guide Interview that he just knew he was being called for a character on Sanford and Son when Norman Lear contacted him. So if that was the case, where do you think he could have fit?

I thought about this a while back.....what if? LOL I think he could have probably been one of Fred or Elizabeth's relatives that come just to stir up trouble. Just an idea.

I could see him as two things. One of Fred's drinking buddies or a cousin of Lamont's on fred's side.

I was shocked to read he was EXCITED to be on Sanford and Son and then found out it was for All in the Family and he was like-OH OK-lol

i was supprise when I heard that he wanted to be on Sanford and son also , but i think he was happy to Be On All In The Family,and if he had a choice he could picked Sanford and son but otherwise he was happy to finally get his first tv role That would make him a even Bigger Star on his own show on The Jeffersons And Also Have his Own Show As A Different Character On Amen and if he didn't want To Be On All In The Family he would have turned down the Role but otherwise i think he was happy to have his first tv Supporting role That Would Soon Be a Lead Character.
if He Did Turned Down on All In The Family There May Have Never Been A Show Called The Jeffersons and also Because Isabel Sanford Turned Down The Spinoff At First anyway But Changed her Mind Later on.
