Default Would the George Jefferson Character have been EXTRA FUNNY if he was Poor?

Having the George Jefferson character living in the Ghetto not making that much money I think would have had me laughing fpr 30 straight mins. Do you think George would have made you laugh more or less if he was Poor? Can you imagine how short his temper would have been if facing a LAYOFF??

He would have been just as energetic, but less snobby. I don't know if he would have been equally funny, because I don't know if the poor jokes would have worked for him like the rich ones did.

Well, that 1968 episode was a bit of a preview of how George had been.

He's so funny, he could have played a poor George just as easy as a rich George. But how would you fit Florence and Bentley into the poor show?

The George Jefferson character is so hilariously funny, regardless of his situation. If he was poor, he might lose some of that arrogant edge. Maybe not. I just can't picture him not being funny.

The possibilities are endless. I actually think that George Jefferson is the funniest character in tv history.

Louise: "George just because we are moving up there no reason we should look down on people"

George: "I'm not telling you to look down on anyone i'm just saying shift your angle and let them start looking up at you"

I think George would still have been funny...he'd come up with much shadier get-rich-quick schemes than JJ Evans!! I would just hope Louise wouldn't be as sanctimonious as Florida.

LOL, it would have definetely been funny. I could see George being an uppity poor person looking down on others.

He probably would have been similar to me, I used to feel I was better than those who lived in the projects even though I still lived in the GHETTO-lol
