Wouldn't expect it until this winter if I were you... don't hold your breath. Personally I'm disgusted with the way PHE has just thrown aside any regard for putting quality into the GOMER sets since their stellar season one set. It had better menus, packagings, contained multiple special features and had a nice down-home feel with the southern voice of Jim Nabors greeting you at every episode's beginning.

Yea, I am totally shocked and amazed that they are coming out with the next season so soon. That's good news, but if season three is anything close to the low budget hack job they did with season two, I won't be buying it.

I think Gomer Pyle USMC started to slip a little in quality with the third season. Isn't this the season when Gomer started singing in some of the episodes? I never cared for the singing episodes too much. Gomer talks in his usual hillbilly accent, and then he breaks out singing with a voice like Caruso. That's too much for me.

well; let's all keep our fingers crossed that PHE doesn't do botch this one too; since; unfortunately that seems to be their trend lately.

Cover art---- late update for GOMER PYLE SEASON THREE.

Here we go again: no extras, another amateur set.

And believe it or not Lee, PHE usually continues the shows that they put the least effort into. They're usually reliable in continuing the series they start (but don't even get me started on CHEERS and TAXI), but effort is rarely part of the equation. Before you see PHE start putting quality sets out again, you'll probably see flying cars and dollar-a-gallon gas.

If there are no extras, it wouldn't bother me. But if they do the same with this season like they did with season two and put some cut episodes on the DVD, then my face will resemble that of Sgt. Carter's on the third season cover art.

LOL!!! I also don't care for the singing in the eps. Though, I find his amazing singing voice part of the humor and it makes me laugh.

I just don't wanna see it during the show.

Am I alone in not caring that season 2 is a "bare bones" release? I can't say that it bothers me much at all.

Personally, I don't have any real interest in hearing Jim's intros to the eps or any extras like that (that's not why I wanted the DVD in the first place). I also don't care how plain the packaging is. As far as some of the eps being edited, that sucks, BUT, it's more than what I've got now. I'd rather have the edited shows of Season 2 than no Season 2 at all.

Keep in mind, I haven't purchased Season 2 yet, so I don't really know what I'll think of the DVD. It's just I've read so much about folks being so disappointed over Season 2 and I don't see myself being bothered by the reasons these people are disappointed.

I hope I feel the same way once I buy Season 2...
