I would, of course. But, it's not like I would pay any more than $20 extra. I'm big with having the shows exactly how they originally aired, so I probably wouldn't even buy it if it was cut up (which was the case with WKRP)

It depends on the show.
Married... With Children (Complete with "Love & Marriage" Theme) - Yes, I would pay extra for the music. I'd go up to a hundred or more, if I had to. Though with eleven seasons of that show, that could run into some serious money, lol. Happy Days (Complete with Oldies Music and 2nd Season Theme) - Yes. This is the same as MWC. I'd spend around a hundred or more to get all the original music intact. That '70s Show (Complete with 70s Music) - Yes, but I wouldn't go as high as I would for the others. I started watching this show on DVD before ever seeing it on FOX or FX. And from what I've seen, the DVDs have enough 70s music in them, to where I don't complain as much. I mean Happy Days only has like three or four songs intact on their DVD. That's a big difference and a major reason why I'd go into the hundreds for Happy Days and not so much for That '70s Show. I'm sure there are others. If "The Wonder Years" comes out, I would pay extra for the music, because if they pull the music out of that show, it would have a serious affect on the final product. Of course, I still live with my parents and so if I had a family to support, this would be out of the question, lol. But at this point in time, I would spend into the hundreds for a complete (musically) set of my favorite shows. |

If I really liked the show, yes!! In the case of The Wonder Years, Happy Days and WKRP, the music was such a big part of the action. It wouldn't be the same without the original music.

Yes I would, within reason. I've never been a WKRP fan so I have no reason to buy the DVD. I love the Wonder Years but will probably not buy it since I know it will have heavy music replacement. There are some shows where the music isn't integral and therefore not as much as a big deal (The Fall Guy, Greatest American Hero, etc). However for a show like Happy Days & The Wonder Years where it is integral, yes it matters. I don't see any excuse for a current show that is still airing to have music replacement (think Paramount). If I were to buy a season of Medium and find it has music replaced Paramount is definitely going to hear it from me.

i would pay extra for my "must haves" but probably not for any others.
in fact it would probably turn me off to the purchase if the music was not original to the show. |

I'd pay extra for the original music of a show. For me it's not the same without the original This Is My Life, theme song on the Bosom Buddies dvd sets.

I'd pay more for The Wonder Years but thats it, music just isn't that important to me or most of TV shows I like.

Yeah, there are some shows out there that I could care less about music being replaced. With Roseanne, for instance, the show only had a few scenes with music cut out (and I mean a few), and fans at the message boards were going ballistic over it.
But for shows like The Wonder Years and Murphy Brown, music is essential to the series. If it's replaced, it just isn't the same show. Murphy Brown would be nothing without the Motown, and Wonder Years would be nothing without the music to set an emotional tone in a lot of the scenes. |

You bet - original scores are too few and far between. There are some amazing composers out there and I'd love to see more of that depth of music in all t.v shows and DVDs.
