The Site Problems

A quick rundown of the site problems.

There's a huge backlog in the mail system on the server (several hundred thousand emails, so I'm told. Mostly spam.) that have to clear out. This huge jam was what was causing the server slowdown in the first place. Hopefully those emails will be cleared out in the next 12 hours.

The error when trying to view threads was caused when, while trying to fix the slowdown, I accidentally broke the ability to view threads. That problem is obviously fixed, as you're reading this.

The site will continue to be slow, but still viewable, through tomorrow, when hopefully things will be back to normal.

A couple of minor changes HAVE occured:
Approximately 20 smilies were deleted.
Profile pictures have been removed and the ability to have them has been turned off.
The number of attachments allowed has been dropped from 7 to 5.

These changes, while not huge, did result in small speed gains for the server, hence why they're persisting.
