"Jo's Cousin" is my least favorite, followed by the one where Tootie had the meltdown over Jermaine Jackson.

I agree Cousin Geri Returns wasnt my fav at all yeah the one where Tootie throws the temper tantrum wasnt that great either...Jo's cousin didnt bother me that much...but then I havent managed to get season 3 yet so I havent seen it in ages....still think putting 3 and 4, if its out, on my Christmas list is my best bet. but I wasnt too crazy about Golden Oldies either.

One of the great things about FOL is that out of 109 episodes there were very few actual bad ones. Still, there is no such thing as a perfect show. Every series has at least a couple of bad episodes. Here are the FOL episodes that just don't work for me:

"The Facts of Love"
There are two major reasons that I don't much like this episode. First off, I think that it is a little too preachy. The scene in the classroom where Mrs. Garrett is talking to the girls about when and when they should not have sex is a perfect example. When I watch this scene I feel that Mrs. G. is standing on top of a soapbox telling the audiance what they should and should not do. I think that the writers could have made the point about waiting to have sex in a way that wasn't so....well, preachy.

The second reason that I don't like this episode is that I don't like how Blair was written. She seems very unBlair-like. She goes through the entire episode talking about how she wants to gain some "experience". This is really out of character for Blair. Going all the way back to "Rough Housing", we learn that Blair is not the kind of girl who would act the way that she does through this episode.

"Brian and Sylvia"
It is bad enough that Mrs. G. and the girls are hardly in this episode at all. To make matters worse, the characters of Brian and Sylvia are not in the slightest bit interesting. I just can never care about either them nor their problems. One of the major things I learned in my college creative writing course, is that when a writer cannot get the audiance to care about his or her characters, then they have failed in telling the story.

"The Academy"
Not a bad episode, but one that I don't think really holds up to repeated viewings. I just don't think that the boys from the military academy are either interesting nor that funny. I do, however, like both Blair and Jo's enterances to the dance.

I'm Dancing As Fast As I Can"
I did a thread about this episode last year. I think that as a guy, I just could not get into Mrs. Garrett, Jo and Blair going to see male exotic dancers.

"'62 Pick-Up"
I've never been a big fan of 50's pop culture. I've never liked the series Happy Days nor the movie Grease. I also don't like the music of the 50's. So an episode that is a flashback to the 1950's with the girls as a Doo Wop group and cameos by Fabien and Bobby Rydell just doesn't do anything for me.

"Big Apple Blues"
I find the people who Natalie moves in with to be really annoying. I also don't like David Spade to start with.

and
The Facts Of Life Down Under
I like the Paris movie much more. The only scene I like in this one is when Jo and Blair are trying to run from the crooks but they keep getting slowed down by the fact that Blair is wearing high heels. It's funny when Blair gets frustrated, so she takes off one of her shoes and throws it at the crooks. Like that was going to make any difference. Of course, this was probably a huge sacrifice for Blair, since they were probably $500 shoes. You've gotta love Blair.

I didn't like "Brian and Sylvia", but I thought "Jo's Cousin" was okay.

Wow, good answers, especially Catlover79, I remember one late episode where Bailey, Blair's little sister, got lost and they took a little spanish girl by mistake, suddenly, for plot convience, nobody spoke spanish! So dumb, both Blair and Natalie spoke spanish, really stupid episode anyway. And yes, I'm Dancing as fast as I can" was also really lame. Well out of 9 seasons, they were bound to have some stinkers.

I actually like "Adventures In Bailey Sitting". Certainly not a classic episode, but pretty good.

I am totally with you on "I'm Dancing As Fast As I Can".

I like both of these episodes.

Tootie did act a little annoying in "Startruck", but I think that was sort of the point. Her crush on Jermaine Jackson was borderline obsessive, but isn't that human nature? All of us at some point in our lives become obsessed with someone. And it is not a healthy state of mind at all. That episode shows that.

Of all the episodes that were designed to serve as springboards for spin-off shows, I think that "Jo's Cousin" was the best. I thought that Terry was an interesting character and the entire family was funny. I like when the older brother told Terry that she could not ride on the back of a motorcycle while wearing a dress and she says "Well, I'll take it off" and her dad chokes on his food. I think that is a funny scene.

I have to agree the episode with Jermaine Jackson and the way tootie acted. I also didn't care much for Brian and Syliva.

I also didn't like THE ACADEMY either. I could do without that episode.

BTW, wasn't that some sort of spin-off? I seem to remember those boys were going to have their version of Facts of Life.
