Recently revealed on TSoD, 30 Rock Season One will now be available as 2 separate volumes for 26.98 each. But of course the complete season set previously announced will still be another way of purchasing 30 Rock on DVD this September 4th.
http://tvshowsondvd.com/newsitem.cfm?NewsID=7593 That set streets for 49.98, but is now available at Amazon for 32 bucks and change. Newly announced extras include bloopers and deleted scenes. Fey commentates on select disc 1 and 3 episodes, which is also the only places where you'll find extras on this 3-disc set. The first individual volume has 2 discs while the second volume (released on the same date) only has one. |

I'm of course buying the full set but I think the studio's just trying to cash in on 30 Rock by offering on-the-fence potential buyers with a means of purchasing the set in two different volumes, even though it'll set you back 5 extra bucks or so than if you'd just dive into the full-season set right away. I think the stores will have more of the individual volumes than the full-season sets when the discs come out so's more money can be made for the money-hungry studio. So, call me crazy, but I believe that more people will buy the individual volumes than you might think, if there is no full-season set on the shelf, they'll just say "What the hell?". But true fans will hold out until their favorite store starts putting out more of the full-season sets on the shelves.
