Music Did Sabrina have any other friends?

I used to be a real loyal watcher of this story, even though the college years kind of lost me. There is one thing that has always bugged me though. It high school, it often seemed like Harvey and her best friend of the year (Jenny, Valerie, and Dreama) were her only friends. Of course, I would like to think she did have other friends - but they just weren't ever shown, because they just weren't important to the plot. It also seemed like Libby and her lackeys singled her out for ridicule, for no apparent reason. I mean, she didn't strike me as someone who would be unpopular. To be fair, I don't recall anyone else - other than Libby and her friends - ever picking on Sabrina. Of course, Brad took over in the last year of high school - and he was scornful of Sabrina in a much more subtle fashion.

At least, in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Buffy was initially accepted into Cordelia's in-crowd - until she inadvertantly threatened Cordelia with a stick. Sabrina never even had that chance, though.

What are your thoughts? Why do you suppose Libby hated Sabrina so much? I just could never figure out why she thought Sabrina was a freak. I mean, Sabrina seemed to be fashionable and good-looking enough.

I think that Sabrina had friends just the ones that were shown were the ones she was closest with an Libby might have been jealous of Sabrina, she was smart, good grades,...I really dont know but thats my guess

I remember in season 1, she had a friend called Emma (who was played by Melissa's sister). She appaeared in one or two episodes. I remember her and Sabrina had a pizza in the Slicery in one episode.

I'd say probably one thing is that Libby loves power and being "queen" of the school, and Sabrina was "the new student" her first year (like Jenny was the year before her), and what easier and quicker way to exclude someone and to make you and your "followers" feel selfishly good than to pick on the new kid at school?

Also, in the pilot, Sabrina "tread on holy ground" when she used Libby and her friends' girls bathroom (Libby warned Sabrina in that scene not to come in there again, but to use the "freaks bathroom"). She also stood up to Libby and threw a couple of insults at her, something I'm sure spoiled selfish "queen bee" Libby is not used to from someone she picks on.

Not to mention, Sabrina's first friend was Jenny, whom Libby and her crew had already deemed a "freak" (and she was sort of an awkward outsider---but a great character and friend for Sabrina).

Libby also thinks Harvey is kind of cute, but here he is obviously wanting to hang out with Sabrina and not her---more ammo for Libby to dislike her.

And the fact that the "new girl" had some confidence and such good friendships (Jenny, Harvey) and didn't have to be superficial to get or keep them probably made her green with envy---even greener than her Westbridge cheerleader uniform.

And think how she must have felt their junior year when her Halloween party bombed and all the cool people were at Sabrina's, and Libby had to "surrender" and go to Sabrina's party. Times like that must have made her so annoyed and frustrated, and only fueled her fire to "show her" who's the cool one, etc.

So, for starters, I'd say those were some "ground rules" for her rivalry with Sabrina.

There's the one nerdy boy who's sort of friends with Sabrina.
