Default Anyone know the story behind the Rudy character saying-"BUD?"

I'm not sure if it was ever discussed about where the BUD name came from and why Keshia Knight said it on the show. I know it was also never explained why the character started saying BUD or where Rudy heard it from. If anyone knows and can provide a source of where they got the info from far as Talk show, Magazine, Book, or Newspaper then that would be great.

There was a mention about it on Kenny's first episode (I think it was season 2) about why Rudy calls him Bud, but I''m not sure if this is the real reason. Most of the episode was about Rudy controlling Kenny, and Kenny doing whatever Rudy wanted him to do. When Rudy told Cliff why she called him Bud when his real name was Kenny, she said that the name Bud sounded much better than Kenny.

She actually starts saying BUD before Kenny is introduced so That's why I was curious what the BUD thing was supposed to mean-lol What was in reference to? I really need to research this

Rudy just gave him that name, and when they got into their teens she went back to Kenny.

The name BUD has nothing to do with Kenny. I want to know why it was in the script because the character USED the name BUD before Kenny was introduced on the show

Because they came up with that name, it has no meaning at all. Reading too much into a name.

On one of the early episodes Rudy siad she was gonna get married and instead of changing her last name, she was gonna make her husband change his name to " Bud Huxtable"

That was a season 2 episode. I'm sure there still is some meaning to it. You can't just tell an actor to say it the way she did without a meaning.

Exactly, I was mainly referring to the way she said it not the name itself. If she just said bud in a regular way I would have never thought about it
