Thumbs down Ungrateful teen receives a Lexus, throws a tantrum

Those stupid parents who try to give their children all the materialistic things in the world only end up with children like this:

Sadly, from what I've seen of My Super Sweet Sixteen, this behavior is the rule, not the exception on that show. It glorifies spoiled, rich brats and gives pre-teens the idea that behaving like pampered divas is okay. These "sweet 16" parties are more lavish than even any wedding I've ever been to, yet these little brats want more, more, more. It's disgusting.

I'd be a fan of that show if, instead of throwing them a gigantic birthday party, they would strand these girls in a third-world country with nothing but the clothes on their backs for two weeks.

I blame the parents and all those spoiled, skinny "actresses" in hollywood.
Girls need more GOOD role models. We have to learn to teach young girls that this kind of behavior is NOT okay.
Why can't we frown upon this behavior anymore?

I wish someone would "ruin my life" and give me a car.

I would have given it back, too.
And ask for a '60s car...

I would have given back the car and left her in the parking lot with a dollar for the bus. That would give her plenty of time to think her life over.

Poor girl's not going to get terribly far in this world.

I think parents who give their kids everything they want and more are just setting them up for disapointment late on in life. They might not be able to find a mate who can put up with their constant material needs. Plus they will never feel good enough about themselves if they can't get the newest trends or the most expensive cars. Material things mean nothing. It's who you are as a person that matters.

You said it. Seeing this tantrum reminds me of Becky Conner on Roseanne throwing that hissy fit and screaming at her Dad when the bike shop went under. Seems to me kids (which is what they are) don't know the REAL WORLD and the real problems that await them. If they throw tantrums over frivolous things, can you imagine when they don't get the job they want? They don't get the perfect mate? How will they handle a major illness? What will happen when they are dealt real painful issues in life? Geez.
