J: So, what did you do today?
A: Nothing of importance.
J: What do you mean?
A: You wouldn't want to know what I was doing today, that's all.
J: Okay. Do you want to know what I was doing today?
A: Not really.
J: Hey, what I did today put food on this table and in your mouth, so if you don't want to hear it, don't eat.
A: Hey, I didn't say I wanted you to quit, just that I didn't want to hear it. But go ahead and tell me if you want to.
J: Well, I just wanted to know if you heard anything about a crime I was assigned to.
A: What is it?
J: Well, there was a shooting out in the 58th Street alley.
A: (Looks nervous.) What do you mean? Why would I know anything about it?
J: (Looks suspicious.) Just wondering if you heard something about it.
A: Well, I didn't. So don't ask.
J: Okay, I won't! Why did you act so suprised when I asked you?
A: I... I wasn't suprised. Just worried. Was anyone killed?
J: Yes. Justin Branch.
(Alexz chokes on her food. Jo looks at her with concern)
J: Honey, are you okay?
A: Yeah...
