Im of French Canadian, French speaking Irish and French Acadian roots...so, mainly French ancestry....with a bit of native ( Mohawk ) thrown in for good measure

Supposedly, a mix of Native American, most likely Cherokee (the geography and lineages DO line up), plus English and Scottish.
But honestly, I really couldn't care less. I really couldn't. It doesn't interest me in the least little bit. I'm here, now, and while I can't speak for the native american portions, I'm pretty sure the British and Scottish relatives came here to distance themselves from England, Scotland, etc; Not having their descendants all goo-goo over this heritage bunk. They got here between 200 and 300 years ago, and the native american ancestors got here...well...a lot longer ago than that. At a certain point, you stop being "British" or "Scottish", and you start being "American" or "Canadian". |
