Well, it says January 24th, 1956 on the ticket, so I'd assume it was "The $99,000 Answer," which aired on January 28th of that year.

Given that Gleason filmed two episodes a week, and had some breaks, and filming was somewhat more in advance of air date than that, I'd reckon it was probably around this time that "A Dog's Life" and "Mama Loves Mambo" could've been filmed, if not earlier or slightly later. I think I'm beginning to piece together which two episodes in a week may've been filmed based on some variables, i.e. Gleason's appearance, who was the director of photography (Doug Downs, Dan Cavelli or Jack Etra) and other factors. It would seem, for example, that "The Worry Wart" and "Mind Your Own Business" would've come from the same week's worth of filming. Boy, what any Honeymooners fan would give to have specific documented evidence of what exact day each episode was filmed. . . .

I just learned in the past couple of years or so that the Classic 39 were filmed before they aired, before that I was under the impression that they aired live like the Lost Episodes did. I didn't know they filmed two episodes a week though, that must've been hell for Audrey and them, especially with how picky Jackie was with the scripts and whatnot. I guess that explains the poor editing in some episodes, which I believe Jackie was responsible for.

I suppose this would include the loop in the dancing scene of "The Man from Space" where they showed Ralph showing off dance moves in a faraway shot - then cut to the same scene, from a different camera angle, before getting to the action.

As for that filming schedule - Ms. Meadows did note that it was a record that would never be surpassed or duplicated by anyone else, and this schedule may've been punishing enough for Gleason as to explain his subsequent approach to performing.

Yes, I believe we discussed all these edits in a thread a while back. That scene from "The Man from Space" was something I hadn't noticed until you brought it to my attention. I'm not sure if I brought this up before or not, but how likely do you think it is that these "deleted scenes" are still in existence today? I don't know much about the way they edited film back in the 50's, but I'd definitely love to see some of these Classic 39 episodes full and actually "uncut." I mean, after all, everybody thought those Cavalcade of Stars sketches were lost forever until somebody discovered them in their attic.

I think I remember reading something like that in her book, it must've slipped my mind. Their gig at the Paramount in '54 must've been even crazier, with them doing a show every day for two weeks. They pulled it off though, I'd like to see some of these so-called actors these days do the same.

This is the first time I have seen tickets to the HM. I have seen the Jackie Gleason show, but neve these. I will guess that they will sell for around $650.
Why don't we see who can guess the amount they sell for. I would bid up to 1k, but my wife would send me straight to the moon, no stops! Lol! Not to worry, one day I'll find that pot O' gold. Then, and only then will I take the plunge, as we say in the trade.
