I hope that I am remembering all of these details correctly but here goes. There was a fellow in the military who monitored radio transmissions from the Soviet Union at the beginning of the Cold War. The CIA started up shortly after and he and his job were transferred over to that agency. The fellow had a young daughter and wife who he gradually neglected more and more because of the demands of his job. The wife and daughter go off on vacation to visit the wife's parents and the wife receives a call while on this vacation from a neighbour that the military have gone to their home on the base where they lived and moved all of their possessions out. The wife's and daughter's possessions are soon delivered to them at the wife's parents' home but the husband's possessions are not. The wife and daughter, in fact, never see him again. The wife is soon visited by someone claiming to be a military officer or CIA agent later but he doesn't really provide much info about the husband's disappearance and when she later tries to contact this person, she is told that he doesn't exist. Many years later, the now grown up daughter tries to find her missing father and goes public with her quest (incidently, she is now a PI who tries to reunite lost loved ones). She soon receives a strange phone call from an unidentified man saying that her father is still alive and going by a different first name and now living in a country with rivers and mountains and something else that I don't remember but he never reveals which country. The daughter goes on UM to find her father.
Does anyone else know this case and know if there is any update? |

I saw it and taped it off of Lifetime last year. There hadn't been an update, so I doubt there's any new news. The lady's name was Carol Solstad.

I actually have that entire episode. The segments on it are "Carol", Kevin Hughes, Carol Solstad (which are 3 that you mentioned tonight) and the one about a deaf girl who was searching for her father.
