Hey, I know that John Roubas is still considered to be running from the law, but does anyone else think that he and Borat have an awful lot in common, physically?

Just watched this segment. His former associate seemed pretty adamant that Roubas called him after the body was found. But the authorities apparently matched his teeth and jawbone as being the remains found so Idk. I think he's probably dead, but ya never know...

This is another one of our rarely discussed cases. I know that the authorities believe he is dead, however, his former associate claims he is still alive. I could see it both ways. I'm sure that back then, it wasn't hard at all to pay off a dentist and plant teeth that match supposed dental records that were found in the car. I also do not think its too far fetched to believe that Roubas is in fact dead and his former friends/associates want everyone to believe he's still alive. Kind of like the old "no one will ever find him" game, even though he is most certainly dead.
Was it ever disclosed how the person in the car died? I cant remember if the segment mentioned the person being shot or anything. |

I always thought John Roubas looked like John Oates.

I was intrigued by this segment since I never saw it before. Just watched it yesterday and I don't see the possibility that Roubas faked his death. The segment says one of the women that accompanied him from the airport to the scene of his death was convicted as an accomplice to his murder. Why would she take the fall for a murder that didn't happen?

Awhile ago, I found out a little tidbit about his last name. John's actual name was John Scott Kachiroubas. He used a shortened version of his surname his whole life, although his parents kept the original spelling (his paternal family was from Greece). I also found John Roubas' death certificate, which has the original family spelling (it's mostly in Spanish).
