Default Stuff cut from Vera's Popcorn Romance

Sorry it's a little late. Just getting around to watching some of the episodes I taped last week (I was on vacation). Anyway, if anyone is interested, I noticed a few scenes missing (and some that were intact, but were missing from E!). When Vera is describing how Alice will act (like her mother). She also did the same thing with Mel (her father, saying nobody she brings home is good enough for her, and Mel calls the guy a bum), and Flo (like her grandmother, which she corrects her and says aunt). The scene then changes to after work, everyone has plans and wants someone else to lock up. Vera says she'll say, since Brian is meeting her at the diner. Everyone else then has a change of plans and decides to stick around. The phone then rings, which is where ION picked it up. Total missing was about 3:30. The latter part didn't really matter to the story line, but cutting out the part where she describes Mel as her father and Flo as her grandmother makes the later referrals to them being mother, father and grandmother not make as much sense.

The part that ION kept intact, was after Vera told them about moving in with Brian. After Mel said "What?", E! cut to a commercial, and came back in the movie theater, about 1:15. There was also about 10-15 seconds at the start of the theater scene missing. E! also cut a bit out when Flo confonts Henry and Vera at the theater. The part where Henry says he's trying to get Chloe a hobby was cut, probably 15 seconds or so. So that's about 1:45 not seen on E! that ION showed I don't recall what edits TNN made, and I don't have the TNN tapings handy.

We also learn Vera is 31, which is interesting, because a few episodes later ("What Happened to the Class of '78"), she gets a letter for her 15th class reunion...if she graduated when she was 18, like most people, she'd have to be 33, or 32 at the youngest (and about to turn 33).

Thanks Fred.

Though I'm a bit confused, because:

Not the part I mentioned. It cut off after Vera said Alice would act like her mother. She said Mel would act like her father, and say no man was good enough for her. Mel said how would he know what the guy was like, he hasn't even met the bum yet. Flo said they were just looking out for her best interest, and Vera said she's acting like her grandmother (to which Flo said "aunt")...all that was cut out. They did show the later parts where she called Alice Mel and Flo her mother, father and grandmother though (which is why I said it sorta ruined the joke)

But I saw that on ION. I remember cause it was funny when Vera made those 3 comparisons in the diner, and then it was funny later at the theater when she did it again and Flo got more annoyed at the "granny" thing and was more vocal with her "auntie!" insistence, lol.

This is really odd...I think I still have that one on tape.

Just re-checked my tape. She tells Alice she'd be like her mother, saying "what's he like, did he try to kiss you, does he have a steady job, does he want to get married?" Alice says she couldn't care less about those things, and Flo says "Fine mother you are". It cut to a commercial, and when it came back, it was at the end of the day, with Vera running to answer the phone (which was Brian calling). She does say they're just staying around so they can act like her mother, father, and grandmother. But that's not the part I was describing was missing.

Oh, okay...well, as long as Flo comes back with "aunt!" at her in the diner, okay....yeah, I see what you mean. I was thinking that was back where you first said the cut part was. Sorry.
