Default Rose Marie/Sally Rogers

Other than the overall personality of the character, another thing that annoys me about Sally is her constant references to the fact that she's a desperate single woman and doesn't have a man. Just one time I wish someone would have told her- "Woman, you are middle aged and not even terribly attractive. So what do you expect???"

Wink

Her being desperate for a husband did get alot of laughs. She wasn't as attractive as Laura but I still thought she looked nice.

I thought she looked ok; not as pretty as Laura; but somewhat atractive.

I agree that she wasn't as attractive as Laura, but Sally did look very nice. She just had a different personality than most women of that time. She was a working woman too which also made a difference. Sally was just looking for the same happiness that Rob and Buddy had in their marriages. Luckily, she eventually found it with Herman, even if it was years down the road LOL.

I thought she looked well below average and had a big mouth; bad combination.

Well, if we are going in that direction, Millie wasnt a sexpot and she had a husband. Sally had a sense of humor, good personality, and wasnt bad to look at. I guess that must intimidate you guys...

Millie was cute, especially in the later seasons. Laura was always hot, Sally was always unattractive.

I'm amazed at the people attacking Sally Rogers and Rose Marie. Rose Marie was/is a very funny woman, and Sally was a woman supporting herself and maintaining a sense of humor in a fiercely competitive field in the 1960s.

BTW in "Jilting the Jilter" Sally refuses to marry a comedian who just wants to use her talents to take revenge on all his critics.

And if you see the first season of Night Court and watch Selma Diamond, you will know who inspired the Sally character.

Sally is one of my top 3 favorite characters on that show and she did have a nice singing voice and she isn't bad to look at and I laughed at all of her jokes about her being single and looking for a husband especially on the episode where she was a guest host of a tv talk show.

No one else could have ever played Sally Rogers better than Rose Marie.

She did play the part well, I'll give her credit for that.

Geez Lee what are you going to nitpick next about this show, the Ottoman that Rob kept tripping over?

No, I don't have any issues with the Ottoman. It's mostly Buddy and Sally. That was an interesting gimmick they had with the opening credits where sometimes Rob tripped over the Ottoman and other times he did not. But you can tell early in the opening credits the way Laura greets Rob at the door whether he will trip over the Ottoman or not.

For someone who never took dance lessons or had any other kind of training, Dick showed an amazing amout of physical dexterity on the show, from dancing, to prat falling, to being drunk, to being injured.
