SHONDA: BURKE IS DONE
'GREY'S Anatomy" creator Shonda Rhimes says the firing of Isaiah Washington was in line with the show's storyline.
"I don't want to read the tabloids," Rhimes told "Access Hollywood." "And I feel like we wrote the show in a way that really completes the story of [Washington's character] Burke. "And that is a really strong thing." Washington, who played surgeon Preston Burke, was canned after a stormy season on the show, in which he used a gay slur to refer to co-star T.R. Knight - who then "came out." Burke ended the season leaving fiancee Christina (Sandra Oh) at the altar and disappearing. |
