Is anyone interested in these tales?
I've been interested in them since I was 10 and know quite a lot about them. I've read several books on the subject and am looking for more - I recently ordered The Once and Future King by T. H. White. My favourite knight was Sir Gareth of Orkney, the youngest brother of Sir Gawain (there was Gawain, Agravain, Gaheris and Gareth.) I've always liked Gareth a lot, because he was very gentle and kind and patient and sweet. He idolised Lancelot, who was his best friend, but Lancelot accidentally killed him, along with Gaheris, when he came to rescue Queen Guienevere. Gareth and Gaheris were unarmed and Lancelot didn't see them. Gareth doesn't seem to be a knight that most people choose as a favourite (a lot of people tend to go with Galahad, Lancelot, Percival, Gawain and a few other well known knights) but I love Gareth. |

Um, well considering up until about a year ago I thought that Kind Arthur and his Knights really existed, I'm not really familiar with them...

Well, I like Monty Python and the Quest For The Holy Grail, if that counts.
On that movie, I'd say Sir Lancelot is my favorite. Owner of Swamp Castle(to Lancelot, after he attacks a wedding party): "You only killed the Bride's father - that's all -" Lancelot: "Sorry, I didn't really mean to...." OoSC: "Didn't mean to? You put the sword right through his head!" Lancelot: "Oh dear... is he all right?" Ah, John Cleese - gotta love him! |

I believe in Merlin as well. They're nice things to believe, so I've chosen to believe them. Even those that don't believe in them say that they think Arthur was probably a real figure. |
