Default Anyone buy their copy this week of Welcome Back Kotter Season 1?

Got mine today and can't wait simply because I laughed my A$$ off watching this show when it was EDITED, so you know I'm in for a Big Treat when I see all the unseen Footage, especially in the Pilot ep

I bought my copy on Wednesday. I have to say I'm enjoying it. Now I'm back in the "Welcome Back, Kotter" mood.

Barbarino is Travolta's best role, in my opinion. He was hilarious. I'm also a fan of Epstein. Freddie's funny too. But Horshack, honestly annoys me. Especially in the final season.

I would have watched it today but I'm going out to dinner later and when I watch any TV show on DVD I like it to be the entire season without any interruptions-lol Which is why it will be tomorrow

I remember the first season very well in 1975. Vinny would say "Up your nose with a rubber hose". No one seem to talk like that on TV prior to that.
I was about 12 years old then, and I thought the jokes were very funny. But now I cannot bring myself to watch the series. I guess as I get older it seems kind of juvenile to me. But I hope the DVD does well, because the show did give me a lot of laughs growing up.

I got mine the very day it came out. Hubby got it for me as a week late bd present. I have been a fan of the show & Kotter ever since the 3rd ep came on. I was in high school at the time & kids kept talking about this new show that was funny called "Welcome Back Kotter". A friend of mine was raving about it & how she had fallen in love with John Travolta who played Barbarino on the show. So I watched it which was the 3rd ep & knew my friend was right. I became a fan of Travolta & the show & have been to this day. I still have all my old John Travolta & WBk stuff which I bought back in the day. I hope they release all the seasons. Kotter is my favorite work of Travolta's btw. He's grea in his movies but just awesome as Barbarino...

Well I'm about to watch the pilot first because it makes more sense, I do know ABC felt the Sweathoggs was too wild in the pilot and decided to go with the Great Debate as the First episode.

I just got mine last week and it hasn't been out of my DVD player since. I was excited to see how much of it held up...it was my favorite show in 1975-76 when I was ten, and I've always had the best memories of it. Horshack was my favorite and still is, and I'm not embarrassed to say that I had a mad schoolgirl crush on the character!

Oh, btw, I'm new here, so hello, how are you, I'm Becky from Chicago.

I bought the WBK dvd over the weekend but won't watch it until I get through with S1 of Gilligans Island first.

Thanks! This is the first WBK fan community I've found. I've been waiting to discuss this show for a long time.

I got mine a week after it came out (had forgotten about it...I was out of town on vacation, and knew there was one I wanted to buy, but couldn't remember which one it was). I haven't watched all of it yet, but am glad I bought it. It was always one of my favorite shows, although I don't think I watched it first run (I was only 5 when it started). I did watch it alot on WGN-9 (Becky should know that channel ) from 1979/1980 on.
