I have my mother's wedding ring and her mother's ring. She had a very nice collection of angel figurines. I kept the ones that I gave her and gave some to other family members. I have a beautiful vase that my parents had in their home for 50 years. I have my Dad's Red Sox cap.
I had a nice Hummel from one of my sisters. It's the last gift she gave me a month before her death, for Christmas 1990. My other sister gave me a small porcelain music box that plays, 'Moon River'. She had to special order it. I treasure these items. |

I wear two rings that were my grandmother's. One is a garnet ring we bought for her birthday years ago (garnet was her birthstone), and the other is her engagement ring. It is set with a sapphire with two tiny diamonds on each side (sapphire is my birthstone). I loved her very much and am happy to wear two reminders of her every day (she passed on in 1995).

I have my father's leather briefcase that he used for work for over 35 years. He never bought a new one. He would fix this briefcase over and over again. My father being a shoe repairman, he had two large sewing machines that he used for various items such as repairing luggage and large items. So, if my dad could fix it, he would. He used the briefcase to hold his weekly paperwork, cash register receipts, cash and checks, etc.I also have a large box of items my father brought home from Europe during WW2. In it is a large swastika flag, some rifle bullets, german money and coins, nazi paraphenalia (sp?). He obtained those from one of Hitler's many bunkers. My father was assigned to guard one of his bunkers along with several other soldiers. I also have my father's small military-issued prayer book, some of his service medals and military paperwork. I also have some of his work tools, some put away and some I use around the house. I kept his apron that he wore while working. It smells just like the last time he wore it. My sister has in her home a small grandfather clock that my father brought home from Germany. It still works and sounds beautiful. She also has a butterfly collection that our dad salvaged from a London museum that was bombed during the war. My dad and his group came upon a part of London during the Blitz and all that remained from that museum was this beautiful butterfly collection. My father had that displayed in his store. When we closed down the business, my sister took that collection. Unfortunately, with all the bickering between my sister and I with our half-brother and his mother, we were never able to obtain our father's jewelry. I am SOOOOOO PISSED ABT THAT. I try to tell myself that we came away with something better; we came away with beautiful memories, beautiful pictures, class, dignity, manners and morals. Not to mention the things my father left me and my sister as far as property is concerned. I guess you can obviously tell the bitterness I have towards my half-brother and his mom.

My grandmother secretly gave me her Mother's ring (you know, the rings moms have with the birthstones of all their kids) a few years ago. It's supposed to go to my aunt, but my grandmother wanted me to have it because I'm her favorite grandkid
![]() My other grandmother left me a British flag (my uncle bought if out of a museum for her) that was carried by the redcoats in the Revolutionary War. |

My Mother has a beautiful silverware set that she recieved as a wedding present that she uses for the big Holiday dinners.
My Mom also has a lot of Holiday decorations (Christmas, Easter, etc) that I remember from my childhood. As for me, I have my Star Wars toys.

I also have the flag that was given to me at my father's funeral since he was a Veteran. I bought a wooden flag case with a glass front (door type). I don't have it displayed though. Too much.
