Default Original idea?

I was curious, does anyone know who came up with the initial concept for this website? Was it TJ? If so, did he create it by himself or were several people involved?

To me, this website is like a city - so many different forums and subforums, which are like neighbourhoods, and different people who use different forums. There's a range of communities here. It's like an online city.

Al Gore invented this website.

Actually, I'm guessing it was TJ alone who came up with the concept of this website. Thanks, TJ!

I thought I read that Happy Days Online was the original website and Sitcoms Online grew out from that. Anyway it's a great website and you're right it's like a city. It's like we're all neighbors.

So where is the "bad" neighborhood here in SOville? Or do I want to know?!

The more I came here in the beginning, the more it began to take on a big city feel with a lot of neighborhoods lined up together. We all bump into each other here and there, we'll talk for a little while in one area then go to another, we all come together at once in Chit Chat, etc.

The random board reminds me of a block party or something with each thread acting as an individual house.

Politics board. That's where all the fights break out. Chit Chat gets its share of "criminal activity" as well.
