Or pay the usual amount for replacement music. I ask that question because I understand that Warner Brothers won't release anymore seasons because of the high music costs. I can't imagine not having the original music on the DVD's, I would rather pay more for the orginals than buy it with replacement music.

I'd like the original music too but not at $20 - $30 extra, its just too expensive for me personally. And I think alot of people wouldn't want to spend that much. But I could be wrong.

^ Thats ok. I might see paying $5 extra for the original music but since I have a limited DVD budget, I wouldn't want to pay alot more. I made due with WKRP's crummy music, so I could do the same with Murphy Brown.

I know it's a lot, but its integral to the original show, I don't know how integral it is for Murphy Brown. |

I could not agree more with you Kristen! There's actually 4 other people here besides us who enjoy the show!
To the question, I would gladly pay that much more just to have original music. But, I am only 1 person, and I don't think that many other poeple will pay even $10 more for the set. But, season 2 was the last season that had Motown in every episode. After this, it was in an episode once in awhile. If WB would just realize that, and give the show another shot, and I couldn't ask for more. Plus, how much can Motown music cost? I wouldn't think it would be more than today's music. And, Motown was a part of the show. There is no way I would touch a copy with replacement music. It would be a waste of time and money. |

I always wonderd why they don't do what they do with some CD releases.....
have the "standard version" with music replaced, or.... for $10 or $20 more have a "deluxe version" with all the original music intact. |

I couldn't imagine Murphy Brown without the original music. That was so much a part of the show and even a part of the Murphy's charactor that it just wouldn't be the same without it. I would gladly pay that much more for it.

I'm re watching Season 1 for the 9th time, and It never dawned on me that the music rights were holding up the series release on DVD.
I would pay more for the series with the original music intact. Murphy without the music would not be cool. |
