Default What do you pay for car insurance?

I pay $900 a year for full coverage here in Southern California. God, what I would do with that money if I didn't have to pay car insurance.

I wish we paid $900. Mines about that every 6 months. Probably a little more.

Who is we?

I pay $900 a year. My eldest daughter pays almost $750 for full coverage. My boyfriend pays $850 for full coverage through his own insurance company. When my 18 year old gets her license and I add her to my insurance, her portion will be $600 a year. That would be added to the $900 I already pay. That would be $1500 a year!! I told her until she works more hours at work and is able to pay her portion of insurance, I can't have her on my insurance.

For the previous insurance year period (Oct 06 to Oct 07), I wound up paying out just over $700.

For Oct 05 to Oct 06, I paid ~$1200.

Well now see, I live in MA where there's almost like a monopoly on car insurance companies. We don't have Geico, Statefarm, none of that. There's only ex-amount of companies who can sell insurance, and because there's so few, they jack the prices up.

When I got my license, from age 16 to 18 my parents paid $2200 a year to have me insured on both my parent's cars. I'm over 18 with no speeding tickets, so I believe it may have gone down a bit. My dad is signing his Jeep to me though so that'll be mine soon.

we=me and my mom

if i were on my own plan it would be much more than that. I was on my own until some drunk idiot decided to plow into the back of my car and somehow my insurance went up since NY has no fault. I think my insurance is under my moms name as of now. a 20 year old male driving a sports car in NY is costly apparently.

We got you beat in Canada

I pay $2000 per year and that is with a 10 year 43% safe drivers discount. If I am lucky I can save another 7 % with 10 more years without an accident, our health care may have you beat but I think the gas prices and insurance costsmake up the damage.

I used to pay $330 per month. From the age of 18-20 with my Eclipse. Yeah..probably wasn't a good idea to get a "sports" car as an 18 year old male. It has dropped significantly to around $120 per month though.

I just got my license in May and my parents signed me on to my dads '96 Pathfinder instead of my '05 Sunfire so we have three cars three drivers, but I pay for my insurance and its 70 a month through State farm with my good grade discount and a couple other things I did

We're a one car family these days. I think our insurance is about $1,000. I pay it in full every January. I pay everything off that I can. I hate bills. I even paid my mortgage off five years ago.
