Thelma Evans or Thelma Frye? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Both were big time whiners, both were Daddy's girls, and both ended their shows as expectant mothers. Who do you prefer? I chose Thelma Evans (Good Times). She wasn't anywhere near as grating as Thelma Frye (Amen).

Thelma Evans gets my vote, she's more likeable imo.

Here are another couple of similarities: both Thelmas were abysmal cooks, and neither could get married without a calamity occuring to the groom (GT's Keith breaking his leg and Amen's Reuben fainting at the altar).

Wouldn't have been funny to have the two Thelmas interact? Maybe in an Amen episode, Keith could've been traded to the Philadelphia Eagles and he and Thelma could've joined the First Community Church. Let the disasters begin!!!

Thelma Evans got knocked up? I never got to watch the last couple seasons of Good Times. Do they know who the father is? What happened?

Thelma married a football player named Keith Anderson in the final season. In the series finale, she found out she was pregnant, so we never saw the baby born or anything like that. Thelma of Amen, however, gave birth to a baby boy in that show's series finale.
