Father's Day Marathons

Two Canadian specialty and digital channels which specialize in Classic TV series from different eras will celebrate Father's Day this Sunday with sitcom marathons featuring two of TV's most famous, and most notorious, fathers: Archie Bunker and Al Bundy.

TVTropolis, which shows popular sitcoms from the mid-80s to the late-90s, will have a "Married With Children" marathon that will feature the best moments and classic misadventures of Al Bundy beginning at 10:00 am and continuing through 14 episodes. The episodes that will be aired are the following:

11:00 AM A Dump of My Own
11:30 AM A Three Job, No Income Family
12:00 PM Oh, What a Feeling
12:30 PM Al ... With Kelly
1:00 PM Do Ya Think I'm Sexy
1:30 PM And Baby Makes Money
2:00 PM The Godfather
2:30 PM Oldies but Young 'Uns
3:00 PM She's Having My Baby Part 1
3:30 PM She's Having My Baby Part 2
4:00 PM Rites of Passage
4:30 PM Kelly Knows Something

There's some great ones on that list that will surely leave Bundy fans very excited! If you watch very closely, you might start to think of Al as being like a modern-day Archie Bunker. If you'd rather see the real thing, DejaView will salute Archie on Father's Day with their own "All In The Family" marathon. It begins at 6:00 am and runs through 2:00 pm. All 16 episodes will be repeated at 2:00 pm and again at 10:00 pm. This is how the 2:00 pm lineup will look:

By comparison, the US channels Nick At Nite and TV Land won't be doing anything special this Sunday, unless you consider "Parenthood" with Steve Martin to be your favourite Father's Day movie. What a shame!
